    Compassionate care but concerning shortcomings

I had a mixed experience: the staff were overwhelmingly caring, professional and supportive, the place felt home-like and clean, and hospice care gave my aunt dignity and peace - she looked happy. I also witnessed worrying lapses (neglect/bed sores, residents sent elsewhere for treatment), occasional bad smells, poor food and noisy/distressed patients. Pricing is unclear with many add-ons and increases, so weigh affordability carefully despite the compassionate team.

    About Rosemont Gardens

Rosemont Gardens sits in downtown San Leandro and offers assisted living, memory care, independent living, nursing home, and continuing care retirement community services all in one place, and you'll notice right away it keeps a home-like feeling that makes it easy for new residents to settle in, so whether someone's coming for respite care, hospice, or is staying long-term, there's support for people who are pretty independent and for those who need a fair bit of hands-on care for things like dementia or Alzheimer's, including a secure memory care unit that stays closely monitored at all hours by trained staff. The facility has forty beds for assisted living-some in private suites, some in shared rooms-all furnished and with private bathrooms, air-conditioning, and everything wired for phone, cable, and Wi-Fi, so it feels comfortable, and a lot of people enjoy the indoor common areas, the beautiful garden and courtyard, or the restaurant-style dining room where meals get served daily. Medical care runs deep here, with a dentist, podiatrist, registered nurses, and CNAs on-site every day, plus a doctor always on call and the ability to bring in physical, occupational, and speech therapy as needed.

The staff have experience helping with tough situations like sundowner episodes or confusion, and there's a full calendar of activities, fitness programs, planned group outings, and even music therapy and gardening, with programs and events chosen and run by both the staff and residents themselves-everybody pitches in, and skill levels get considered, so people always feel included, even as their needs change. The approach to care is very much about handling the whole person, with activities to help people stay sharp, move around, and eat well, and families get plenty of education and support, since that's a big part of what makes things work. There's a focus on details, too, from the wheelchair-accessible showers and housekeeping to scheduled transportation around town and on day trips, and phones, internet, and cable in every room make it easy to stay in touch with loved ones.

Beauty and barber services are offered on site, fitness and wellness programs keep everyone active, and the nice, joyful caregiving staff are ready to help at any time, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Independent living options let some folks live more on their own, and for those who need it, care staff provide help with all the basics-bathing, dressing, medication-without making anyone feel like they're in the way. There's a small entry fee of $2,000, and the pricing stays pretty inclusive, which is something not always found at other places. The facility provides private and semi-private bedrooms that are move-in ready, with help available to coordinate that new start. The overall environment is clean and warm, pets aren't allowed, but for those who want something friendly, the gardens and courtyards give a peaceful place for visiting, sitting, or just having a chat. Rosemont Gardens makes a point of welcoming families to take a tour, meet the staff and residents, and see everyday activities. The state license number is 015600148 for anyone who needs to check. This is the kind of place where residents live well, whatever stage they're at, with help always close by and a real sense of community, so the days are about living, not just getting by.
