    Intimate spotless home caring staff

I live at Ethel’s small, six-resident home in a quiet leafy grove and I couldn’t be happier. The place is spotless and beautifully maintained, meals are tasty and nicely presented, and the staff — Ethel and her professional caregivers — are caring, respectful and available 24/7. I feel comfortable and free with help when I need it, I’ve made friends, and there are lots of activities and outings (driving trips, Monopoly, etc.). It’s intimate, well-run, and much more pleasant — and affordable (all‑inclusive $2,500/month) — than my previous crowded nursing home.

    About Live Oak Rest Home

Live Oak Rest Home sits in a quiet Sebastopol neighborhood at 604 Live Oak Ave, with leafy trees, a garden, and walking paths around the property that give it a peaceful feel, and the building, a single-story home built in 1947, is laid out over 2,368 square feet with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one floor, providing room for up to six residents at a time so everyone gets personal attention. This place has been helping seniors since 1976, so the staff know what they're doing, and the care here sticks to a family-oriented approach, with caregivers who try to really understand each person's needs, offering help with things like bathing, dressing, eating, medications, moving around, and toileting, with some staff trained to use Hoyer lifts and other special equipment. Residents who need memory care or have early dementia are welcome, and there's support for diabetes, dietary restrictions, incontinence, and post-surgery recovery, along with visiting nurses and physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy services. Meals are cooked to order and served in the dining room, with choices for vegan, gluten-free, kosher, vegetarian, organic, no sugar, or other diets; tray service is available for eating in-room, and snacks are on hand.

People moving in get help settling, and caregivers take time to get to know them so personalized care plans can be made. The home can serve both private and shared rooms, with fully furnished options, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and telephone service, emergency alert systems, secure doors, fire alarms, and smoke detectors throughout, plus an administrator named Nicholas Ray who's always on call. Residents can bring pets, and the house has five parking spots for visitors. There's always something on the calendar, whether it's movie nights, Monopoly games, gardening, daily walks, scheduled exercises, community-sponsored activities, or occasional outings and drives around town. The home brings in podiatrists, hair and nail services, and keeps up with regular housekeeping.

Residents needing help with mobility and transfers get it from experienced staff, who are always there, day or night, to keep everyone safe and supported. Medication is managed carefully, and those with injections or wound care needs receive help from licensed professionals, often with visits from licensed practical nurses or registered nurses when needed. The team here speaks English and tries to build trust and companionship with everyone, since relationships matter in a small setting like this, where only six people live together in a house designed to feel warm, familiar, and private. The environment is quiet but not lonely, with a gentle pace and steady supervision, whether someone just needs help standing up or has more serious memory issues.

Safety is built in with security cameras, fire protection devices, well-lit walkways, and an outdoor space for fresh air. This place has always tried to be a safe haven that treats everyone with respect, whether they need a little extra help or more hands-on support for medical issues. Live Oak Rest Home follows all state requirements as a licensed six-bed facility and has become a dependable choice for families in Sebastopol who want a comfortable place for their loved ones with familiar routines, steady caregivers, and a whole lot of personal attention.
