    Attentive care, small unfurnished rooms

I liked this small, home-like facility that's very close to home. The staff are friendly, personable and highly organized - great communication and high-quality, attentive care that made my mom's last days comfortable; I'm grateful and would recommend them. The private room was very small and unfurnished, with a shared bathroom used by several residents; the place is clean and quiet but has limited activities and could use more staff attention. Not 100% perfect, but overall a comforting, well-run option.

    About A Mother's Agape Home

A Mother's Agape Home in Vacaville, California, sits in a quiet residential neighborhood, and the place feels like a real house with a small number of residents, usually six or fewer, living together and getting the care they need. The staff at Agape Gardens help seniors who need support after surgery, illness, or a hospital stay, and they also help those with long-term needs, like memory care for people living with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia. Seniors can choose semi-private one-bedroom accommodations, and each resident is encouraged to decorate their room with their favorite things from home.

There's assisted living, memory care, and board and care services here, and the staff are trained to help with meals, medication, daily living tasks, and even high-acuity medical needs, like incontinence and non-ambulatory care. The residents with dementia get a secure, supervised environment to reduce confusion and keep them from wandering, with memory-enhancing programs and activities available regularly. You'll see indoor and outdoor common areas, private baths, accessible showers and tubs, group meals, onsite and offsite activities, and transportation services for those who need them. Hospice and respite care are offered, and foster care services are available, too.

A special focus at A Mother's Agape Home is supporting mothers and infants, with programs and amenities made for maternal and newborn comfort, recovery, and bonding, which is not something you see everywhere. The community offers a family-like atmosphere, and people mention in their reviews that the staff are kind, helpful, and good at communicating, which brings some peace to families, especially in end-of-life care. The home doesn't offer everything for everyone-it's not the biggest or the fanciest place, and it doesn't have every award possible, but it has been recognized for care, support, friendliness, and activities. If someone's looking for a modest, safe, and neighborly place for seniors or for moms and infants needing daily care, with trained staff available 24 hours a day, A Mother's Agape Home is an option in Vacaville.
