    Loving professional care in village

I placed my mom here and couldn't be more relieved - the caregivers are professional, loving and patient, truly treat residents like family, and the administration is communicative and helpful. The remodeled, spotless homes and beautiful grounds (large patio, backyard and fruit trees) feel warm and village-like; three home-cooked meals daily (lots of garden produce), weekly music and activities keep things lively. Move-in, meds and insurance were handled smoothly, and the excellent caregiver-to-resident ratio gives us real peace of mind. Visiting hours were occasionally restrictive, but overall I highly recommend this caring, attentive facility.

    About Sweet Home Senior Living

Sweet Home Senior Living sits in Van Nuys, CA, in a peaceful residential area near Burbank, North Hollywood, Studio City, and Sherman Oaks, and offers care for up to 24 residents spread out across four neighboring, pet-friendly houses, each with six licensed beds, and these homes give a board and care environment that's both homelike and calm, where folks can enjoy the company of other residents while still getting some privacy in private or shared rooms. The staff helps with daily needs like bathing, getting dressed, mobility, grooming, and medication management, and there are licensed nurses trained for dementia care, so residents with memory issues get special help, including support for wandering, incontinence care, and hospice care if needed. Sweet Home Senior Living gives a choice of assisted living, memory care, and short-term care, and even though the facility doesn't take Medicare unless certified, it does accept other payment arrangements, something families often ask about. There's a single-story design for easy movement, and everything has been planned to offer safety and comfort, with serene outdoor seating areas overlooking apple and orange trees, plus patios where residents can enjoy the weather, maybe watch wild parrots, and chat with visitors or neighbors. Residents get three home-cooked meals a day, snacks, laundry and housekeeping services, and transportation when they need to run errands or go to appointments, which folks find helpful. There's a focus on keeping things lively, with media rooms, group activities, games, movie nights, and weekly entertainment, so nobody has to feel bored or lonely, and there's always something to do or someone to talk to, even if it's just playing cards or relaxing on the back porch. Living arrangements are flexible with spacious suites, and common rooms give room to socialize, while the overall feel stays homelike, supported by caring staff who know every resident's needs and work around the clock to help them keep their independence as much as possible, which is something families say brings them peace of mind. Amenities here focus on comfort, like lounge areas and a cheerful, fresh environment, and pets are welcome, making it easier for folks to feel at home, and with thoughtful plans made for each person, the staff tries to make sure everyone feels included and cared for, whether someone needs a little help or more hands-on support, so in the end, Sweet Home Senior Living gives seniors and their families a reliable place to live that balances help, safety, community, and a little extra kindness.
