    About A & W Care Home

A & W Care Home sits at 521 Fenway Dr in a quiet Walnut Creek neighborhood near the corner of Fenway and Warwick, just about a mile and a half from John Muir Medical Center and close to shops and restaurants on Ygnacio Valley Road, which is good when families want places nearby. The facility has a peaceful, home-like setting with private rooms, dedicated living areas, and patios that give residents a place to sit outside or walk in the garden if they're able. The home's been remodeled so both ambulatory and nonambulatory seniors can get around safely, and folks who need different levels of support will find staff on hand with help for daily needs like bathing, dressing, and eating, and there's medication management and health checks, too.

It's a small place, run by Ms. Amy Borja, with about eight staff, so it doesn't feel crowded or overwhelming, which suits some people just fine who want a calmer environment over a larger place. Residents at A & W Care Home have help with chores-laundry and housekeeping get handled-and they serve balanced meals, so seniors don't have to worry about cooking. The home covers assisted living, memory care, and hospice care, supporting older adults whether they're independent or need more hands-on care, and they also offer care plans suited to each person's health and preferences.

There are social and wellness programs every week, plus exercise classes, arts and crafts, and organized outings to help residents keep busy, and there are trips out for errands or appointments because transportation's provided. Folks can get their hair cut or styled since there's a salon on site, and shared common spaces mean residents can spend time together if they'd like. The staff understands each person's routine is important, so support is there when it's needed but folks are encouraged to keep their independence. The neighborhood is quiet but not far from local churches, health care, and shopping, though the Walk Score at 36 does show most errands will need a car. Families looking for a warm, close-knit adult family home in Walnut Creek might find A & W Care Home suits people who want help with daily life but don't want a big, busy place, and the home's approach is to offer personal care while making sure residents feel comfortable and engaged.
