    Great facility, caring staff, unavailable

I had a great but limited visit - the facility felt clean, safe and comfortable, with caring staff and hospitable owners, rooms with hospital beds and nice bathrooms, lots of personal items, and lovely grounds (rose gardens, sculptures). They offer higher-acuity care and fresh daily meals, but unfortunately had no availability and couldn't take my mom.

    About Ave of the Bells

Ave of the Bells sits in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles County, as a small, home-like senior living community for people aged 55 and older where you'll see six assisted living units offering both private and shared bedrooms, and some one-bedroom and studio apartments, each with its own set of amenities because some rooms come with private baths and accessible showers, which is helpful for many seniors who need easier access. The community provides a calm, secure environment, especially for residents with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, as there's a dedicated memory care section with safety bracelets and a secured property to prevent wandering, plus trained staff overseeing care at all hours. Residents receive personalized care plans-with help available for bathing, spoon feeding, dressing, moving around, and managing dietary needs like diabetes and high blood pressure with special menus including organic, gluten-free, vegan, and low-salt or no-sugar options-while the staff works on managing daily medications, checking that routine doctor appointments and health assessments are coordinated and attended, right along with visits from nurses, therapists, dentists, and podiatrists when needed. The dining is all-inclusive with both restaurant-style meals and room service, and there's laundry service too, which takes a burden off both residents and families, and the building offers household comforts like high-definition TVs, a cafe, games room, hair salon, book room, jacuzzi, sauna, fitness room, garden, courtyard, and a pet-friendly policy, so there's quite a bit for seniors to enjoy, from scheduled daily activities like movies, music, yoga, art, games, trivia, outings, karaoke, and even animal therapy to faith-based programs and evening events for those who like to stay active and social. Ave of the Bells lets seniors maintain their independence as long as possible, while still getting help where and when they need it, with extra support like valet service, 24-hour emergency response, transportation for doctor's visits or shopping, hospice and respite care, behavioral care for those with unique challenges, and specialized memory care handled by patient, attentive staff who try to foster a warm, respectful group home setting. Management keeps open communication with families during transitions, promotes a sense of community, and does their best to celebrate each resident's personality and preferences, which might make it feel less institutional. Being owned and operated by a family who cares about resident well-being, the staff knows the importance of kindness and consistent routines, especially for those dealing with memory issues, so they handle physical, mental, and emotional needs carefully while keeping everyday life straightforward and comforting, always mindful that dignity and compassion mean a great deal to seniors and their families.
