    Calm facility with safety concerns

I visited and found a calm, friendly place where my high-functioning friend enjoys the meals and staff generally do a good job. The facility seemed mostly clean and tidy, but I noticed some unkempt areas and poorly placed furniture; the housekeeper didn’t show rooms/baths/kitchen and the manager was unavailable due to an emergency. There’s a dangerous hillside right outside the door, which is a serious safety concern, and there’s high turnover among male caregivers so no consistent caregiver bond; staff can be helpful but sometimes don’t listen to requests. Overall it’s fine for someone who rarely needs help, but I’d be cautious about safety and staffing consistency.

    About Eden Gardens

Eden Gardens, also called Eden Garden and managed by Purple Door, LLC, is an assisted living and memory care community in Woodland Hills, California, that serves adults needing support with daily activities, and they do all sorts of things to help folks feel safe and cared for, with several levels of care, from light to heavy, depending on what each person needs, which means if someone only needs a little help or quite a bit, they can get it without moving somewhere else, and for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, they've got a separate, secured building with special safety measures like bracelets that help prevent wandering, along with unique programs to support memory and daily function. The community has a small-home feel, set up to host fewer than ten residents per house, giving it that quiet, homey environment, with both studio and semi-private rooms, all with private or shared bathrooms, some with full tubs and wheelchair accessible showers, and the average cost sits at $2,800 for a memory care studio or $2,200 for semi-private rooms. Folks can bring small pets like dogs or cats, as long as they meet the rules, and there's a whole routine here that covers things like laundry, personal care, medication management, and three meals daily, with options that cover different diets, including kosher and vegetarian, and they really try to make sure the food is nutritious and fits each person's needs. There are staff on hand around the clock-nurses, visiting doctors, podiatrists, dentists, physical and occupational therapists-so someone with a health issue or ongoing needs doesn't have to worry about finding outside help for most things, and specialized care for incontinence, diabetes, and people who need physical help moving about, like those needing stand-by support or even mechanical lifts, is also there. The grounds offer a lot of nice spaces, like gardens with walking paths, flowers, tree plantings, and water features, as well as outdoor areas set up for activities and social events, and there's resident parking for those who still drive. They do activities every day to keep folks engaged, both indoors and outside, with programs to strengthen the body and mind, and they take residents out sometimes with complimentary transportation, so those who like to get out can do that safely, while devotional services are available offsite for those who want them. Smoking isn't allowed indoors, and things like beauty and barber services, gardening, and lawn care are part of what they keep up with regularly, so folks' everyday lives stay comfortable, with plenty of chances to socialize or just enjoy quiet time. The community also takes short-term respite and hospice stays, and is able to tailor care plans as a person's needs change, and there's security built in for protection and peace of mind. Payment options vary and the community uses a straightforward, plain-spoken approach for helping people understand costs and what's included, and each person can pick from available floor plans to find what suits them best. Eden Gardens is a steady option for seniors who value independence, well-being, and support in a place that aims to feel like home, and though every facility has its own way of doing things, folks here get a good share of services and some peace of mind, with experienced staff on hand to help manage whatever might come up.
