    Friendly staff, engaging activities, concerns

I appreciate the friendly, family-like staff, the bright clean facility, and the many activities - dining room/bistro, movie theater, weekly outings and themed events. Apartments are pleasant and accessible, but food quality, high costs and occasional management/cleanliness or safety concerns were noted. I'd recommend it for active residents who want engagement, but insist on a thorough tour and clear answers about memory-care, staffing and policies.

About Ivy Park at Woodland Hills

Ivy Park at Woodland Hills sits at 20461 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, and is one of Oakmont Senior Living's communities, where you'll find assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing all under one roof, so seniors with different care needs can live in one place, and nobody needs to move if needs change, which can be a relief, and while some folks come here because they like the comfort of a mid-rise building with plenty of sunlight streaming in, others come because the full range of services-like 24-hour supervision, skilled care, medication help, and help with daily living-is on site, so you never have to worry if something happens in the night or you feel unwell and need quick attention, plus you get support services like weekly housekeeping, laundry, and regular maintenance for the little issues that come up, and scheduled transportation is available for outings, appointments, or errands.

The grounds are well cared for, with landscaped walkways lined with palm trees, lush gardens, porches with wicker chairs, and balconies where residents can sit outside, and inside there's a cozy library with a fireplace, comfortable seating, and big windows for reading or relaxing, while other spots like lounges with TVs, rattan chairs, and classic movie posters are made especially for memory care residents, which gives everyone a space that fits their needs, and there are also elegant dining rooms with sunlight and classic furnishings, a bistro with snacks and a vintage jukebox, plus the Vine at Ivy full-service restaurant, so meals can be shared with friends or eaten in suites if a quieter meal is wanted.

People with pets can bring them along, which is nice if you don't want to give up your companion, and everyone gets access to a spa and wellness room, a salon, an activities studio, and curated activities like yoga classes, movie nights, music performances, or outings, so there's something for folks who want to stay active or just relax, and you'll also find fitness programs, group and personal wellness sessions, and memory care programs in the Evergreen Memory Care neighborhood for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias, which aim to reduce confusion and give a secure place to live, plus a kind team leads these areas and tries to create a family-like atmosphere.

Suites are offered in private studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom styles, with accessible bathrooms that have grab bars and spacious vanities, and in the assisted living wing there's a kitchenette with light wood cabinets and a small refrigerator, while memory care rooms stay simple and comfortable, which some families prefer, and all parts of the building are handicap accessible with Wi-Fi throughout. Licensed through July 2025, Ivy Park holds a community score of 9.3 from resident and family feedback and gets high recommendations from local advisors, partly because of the warm staff, who are known to be both helpful and cheerful, and also because the place offers both independence and support, so people can join in community events, pick from nutritious menu choices, and live in a place that tries to be both lively and welcoming. Located close to parks, shops, and dining, and in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, seniors and families often like knowing health care and daily life needs are within easy reach.

    About Sunrise Senior Living

Beginning with a single community in 1981, there are now more than 280 Sunrise Senior Living communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Each of our communities maintains the mission laid out by Sunrise founders Paul and Terry Klaassen more than 40 years ago: to champion quality of life for all seniors. The Klaassens’ vision to redefine senior care resulted in a resident-centered approach to care that focuses on the individuality of each resident and has set the standard in the assisted living industry. We are defined by our people. Our team of serving hearts are guided by our mission, Principles of Service and Values – all of which help encourage independence, preserve dignity and enable freedom of choice for each resident.
