    Warm, loving, organized family-style care

I chose Cedarcrest and have been consistently impressed - the building is beautiful and lodge-like, rooms comfortable, and the staff genuinely caring, loving, and attentive. The activity program (Alicia) with music, dancing and lots of events keeps residents engaged, and the small size/high staff-to-resident ratio really fosters strong personal connections; the Memory Care unit felt secure and compassionate. Becky, the executive director, was responsive and supportive, and hospice/end-of-life care was handled with kindness and dignity. Overall I highly recommend Cedarcrest for warm, organized, family-style care.

About Oaks at Acworth (senior living)

Oaks at Acworth sits at 2351 Cedarcrest Road in Acworth, Georgia, in a three-story building that welcomes seniors needing assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or a place to live more independently, and the place is pet-friendly so residents can bring cats, dogs, or even birds, which folks seem to like because animals often brighten a day. The apartments come in private or shared layouts and have enough room for personal belongings, plus appliances that make things easier. The whole community stays maintenance-free since staff handles housekeeping, laundry, and linen services, which lifts a weight off families' shoulders. The building has high-vaulted, exposed-wood-beam ceilings and landscaped exteriors with evergreens, so the setting feels bright and pleasant. The restaurant-style dining room serves healthy, tasty food all day, and a registered dietitian helps plan meals, letting people eat when it suits them, and meals often encourage people to sit together and talk.

Caring for people with Alzheimer's or dementia is a big part of life at Oaks at Acworth, with secure memory care neighborhoods designed so residents stay safe, and staff uses specialized programs that help keep confusion and wandering down, while also recognizing every person's story and needs, so there are seven levels of customizable care for a more personal touch. Nurses and care staff check up on folks regularly, doing health surveys, and helping with medication, dressing, bathing, and eating, plus there's an emergency response system for more security, and help is always available round the clock. The team there's friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind, which makes the atmosphere feel welcoming to both residents and families.

The place tries to make life more enjoyable with a calendar full of activities, outings, individual and group exercise, fun games in the activity room, and trips outside-sometimes connecting with local schools or organizing community events, all aimed at keeping people active in mind and body. There's an enclosed courtyard for safe outdoor time, and common areas inside are bright and designed for socializing or family visits. Oaks at Acworth offers transportation, respite care for temporary needs, on-site therapy, pharmacy services, and handy resources for families planning care or learning about costs. Residents enjoy a mix of flexibility, safety, and personal attention, and despite all the services, the goal's always to help folks live with as much independence and joy as they can, surrounded by people who care.
