    About King's Bridge Retirement Community

King's Bridge Retirement Community sits in Northeast Atlanta, tucked among parks, cafes, and churches, and it's always nice having Emory University Medical Center and the Atlanta VA Medical Center so close when you need them, which some older folks find reassuring. The buildings have several types of residences, including studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, all designed with safety and easy living in mind, and the memory care and assisted living suites have up-to-date kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, which always look sharp, and they also have private dining rooms reserved for folks who need them. People seem to enjoy the Dancing Goats Coffee Bar and Chick-fil-A on-site for their meals and snacks, and the staff serves the food in several pleasant rooms, so there's both indoor and outdoor seating where residents can visit with friends or family over coffee or a meal, and the dining staff works to make sure the food is nutritious and still tastes good. Walking around outside, you notice how carefully the gardens are kept, with walkways, a courtyard with raised planters for folks who like to garden, a flagpole, fountain, and even an inviting porch with seating that seems to always have someone out there having a chat or enjoying the breeze.

Inside, you'll find air conditioning, big comfortable common rooms, and a two-story lobby with tall columns and a grand chandelier, which gives the place a welcoming feel, plus there's a cozy library, a beauty salon for a haircut or set, a modern fitness center, and Waldrop's General Store for those little things you need from time to time, which really is handy for those who don't want to go out for every errand. If ever you need anything, the staff at King's Bridge are known for kindness, good cheer, and looking out for the residents, visitors, and even each other, which sets the tone for the whole community, and care is available around the clock from licensed nurses, with emergency pendants and a 24-hour call system for peace of mind, which you can appreciate as you get older and like knowing help isn't far away. They offer assisted living for those who want a hand with dressing, bathing, and medications, and they have a separate memory care program for folks with Alzheimer's or other cognitive troubles, making spaces easier to navigate and safer for those who get mixed up or tend to wander, plus there's a private dining room just for those in memory care so it's quieter if you need it.

There's weekly housekeeping and laundry, and they have scheduled transportation for appointments or outings, so you don't have to worry about driving if you'd rather not, and you can usually find friendly faces gathering in the community lounges, event spaces with a stage and piano, or in outdoor areas talking about books, Bible studies, or whatever else is going on, because staying busy is important around here. The Wellness Center is open all week and has a good selection of classes and activities, and chaplain services and IT support are available when needed, which covers a lot of the things that matter in daily living. King's Bridge has partnered with Personal Care, Inc. if you need more care at home or want to age in place while getting some help, and folks can always set up a tour to get a feel for things before deciding anything. They've won "Best of Senior Living" awards and are known for friendly staff and strong meals, but maybe more important, the place works hard to foster a setting where people live with dignity and feel part of a real community, and from what you see, those walks by the flower beds, friendly check-ins, and a real focus on wellness do go a long way in making King's Bridge feel like a comfortable place to grow older.
