    Friendly staff; motel feel remains

I toured the brand-new, renovated motel turned senior living community and was blown away by the staff - Holly in particular - who were friendly, bubbly and offered excellent customer service (they deserve a raise). Inside was clean with wide hallways, a large dining area, nice model rooms and patios (rooms still under renovation) and a pool being reconstructed and not open until the new year. They provide brain/memory activities, crafts and entertainment, a monthly calendar, pamphlets and even financial/VA assistance. It still feels a bit motel-like and not very homey - lacking living-room type common spaces and with some landscaping/maintenance issues - so I'd wait until renovations and outdoor work are finished.

    About Springhouse at Cartersville

Springhouse at Cartersville is a senior living community in the North Suburbs of Atlanta, offering independent living, assisted living, and specialized memory care for people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and they have all kinds of amenities to help residents feel comfortable and safe, with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, some even with kitchenettes, while single or double rooms are also an option and you can bring some pets if you want. The staff offers support with daily needs like bathing, dressing, medication management, and there's licensed nursing staff on-site 24 hours a day, with a nurse practitioner and other trained caregivers ready around the clock, so people know there's always help when needed, including in-house skilled nursing, podiatrist visits, and all sorts of therapy-occupational, physical, and speech. Nutrition's a big part of the care with fine dining for three main meals each day, snacks any time, and flexible 'anytime dining' if you'd rather eat on your own schedule, even if you have specific dietary needs like vegetarian or special meal plans. There's always something to do thanks to a full-time activity director planning educational programs, weekly happy hours, outings to restaurants, museums, shopping, and live entertainment-a movie theater right in the building lets residents catch a film together, and things like a swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor patios and gardens give everyone places to relax outside or take part in fitness activities. There's a strong focus on social connection, so residents have structured programs for meeting people, making friends, and joining in resident appreciation events or spiritual devotional services if that's important. Safety's also a big priority, with features like smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, on-site maintenance, home modifications for seniors, and regular upkeep to make sure everything stays in working order, plus you get weekly housekeeping and daily trash removal so things stay tidy. People have access to free transportation for appointments or outings, and there's a beauty salon and barber shop right on site, so it's easy to stay groomed. Memory care offers specialized training to help staff assist residents with memory challenges, and they design routines and therapies to reduce confusion or wandering, giving residents a sense of stability when they need it most. Programs for fitness, nutrition, and health technology give everyone tools to stay as healthy and active as they're able, and the community aims to foster independence while providing just the right amount of support, with a welcoming, homelike feel in every corner. The quiet, serene setting, along with amenities and conveniences like laundry, climate control, and window treatments in each unit, adds up to a place where seniors can settle in, enjoy meals, company, and entertainment, and feel secure, knowing help's available any time they need it.
