    Immaculate compassionate dementia care expensive

I placed my loved one here and I'm very happy overall - the facility is immaculate, peaceful and genuinely home-like with a secure deck, organic garden, chicken coop/fresh eggs and a huge covered pavilion perfect for visits and kids. The caregivers (many long-tenured) and Mali were exceptional - compassionate, knowledgeable about Alzheimer's/dementia, proactive, coordinated with hospitals and hospice, stayed overnight when needed, monitored meds, and provided bedside/personal support (hair care, good meals). Rooms are small with limited closet space, it's a long drive, and the price is high (they don't take Medicaid) - I wish it were more affordable and that we'd found them sooner, but the caring staff and continuity of care made it worth it for us.

    About Mali's Personal Care Home

Mali's Personal Care Home sits in Lawrenceville, GA, and people call it a board and care home, assisted living home, or personal care home depending on the state, but it feels more like a private residential house than a big facility, and with only 6 licensed beds, the place stays quiet and calm for the folks living there. Caregivers work around the clock and they really know what they're doing, helping with bathing, dressing, medication, and meals, and they spend time getting to know each resident and their families, which makes things a lot more personal. They help people who need memory care, even those with Alzheimer's or difficult behaviors, and they have a separate building just for memory care that's locked and uses wander alert bracelets so nobody gets lost, and staff always keep watch since they've had long experience working in homes like this.

Rooms come in semi-private at $2,000 per month and private at $2,500 per month, and the price includes meals, housework, and basic health care, but the average price people talk about comes to about $5,000, probably because care needs can go up, so that's something to keep in mind. Nurses are always available and people can get help with insulin injections, blood sugar checks, or things like incontinence care, and they'll use lifts if folks need help moving around. The place takes things like nutrition and grooming seriously, and nobody's rushed through anything. They help with all the ups and downs that come with getting older, and when someone has a hospital stay, staff stay involved to keep things on track.

Residents can bring pets, and there's a covered party pavilion and an organic garden out back where folks gather, and if you want to get outside, there are parks and cafes nearby that give folks a chance to be social or just enjoy a change of scenery. The home offers transportation for doctor visits and errands. The whole place is wheelchair accessible, and a wander alert system lets staff know right away if anyone tries to head off into unsafe areas. The house has a stable, experienced staff, so you don't see much turnover, and that helps everyone feel secure. All rooms and common spaces are kept clean and welcoming, and there's a focus on keeping things home-like.

Mali's Personal Care Home works for people who want an affordable option with both assisted living and memory care, though it doesn't take Medicare unless it gets the proper certification. They'll handle a range of medical issues, including diabetes, high acuity care, and non-ambulatory needs, but if someone needs more medical attention or specific hospital-style care, that's something to check on with them. Verified customer reviews and published pricing let families see what to expect, and the staff really focus on dignity, respect, and keeping residents connected to each other and the world outside.
