    Lovely grounds, terrible care, avoid

I loved the lake, gazebo, rocking-chair porch and quiet, private room with a lovely view, but my experience was awful. Staff were uncaring, my mother cried and begged to move - no compassion, no activities, shared bathrooms, no in-room TV, ongoing repairs and 15-20 minutes from town; food and residents' rights were poor. It felt nursing-home-like (owners even seemed like residents) - I would not place a loved one here.

The facility offers private or semi-private rooms, each furnished and some looking out over the lake, and the rooms come with bath tubs, air conditioning, telephones, internet, cable, and Wi-Fi so residents can keep in touch with family or relax in comfort, and there are both 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments available. Lakeview Manor is licensed as a personal care home and covers a wide range of care services, including memory care for residents with cognitive needs, general assisted living, diabetic and high acuity care, medication help, ambulatory care, and incontinence care, and the trained staff, including a registered nurse, provide help all day and night with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and basic health support, giving reassurance to families.
