The Pines of Maysville is a senior living community that supports up to 36 residents in a place designed for people who need help with memory concerns, like Alzheimer's disease or dementia, though you'll find assisted living and independent living options as well, and they'll tailor care plans to each person, tending to bathing, dressing, and help with getting around, with 24-hour staff who watch over everyone and make sure help's right there. You can choose furnished or unfurnished rooms, and there's a focus on making things comfortable and home-like, with updates and photos popping up regularly on Facebook so families can stay in touch with what's happening inside. Folks here stay active, with resident-run activities, scheduled daily programs, and community events filling up the days, plus there's a garden to walk, a library, walking paths, and plenty of spaces indoors to gather and chat, including a small library if you want a quiet spot. Memory Care gets special attention with the SHINE® Memory Care neighborhood, which is made to be secure and easy to get around, reducing confusion and keeping residents safe from wandering. Meals are cooked right there, with chef-prepared food and restaurant-style dining all day, and they take special diets into account-people seem to enjoy breakfast favorites like sour cream biscuits and warm fruit compote. You'll find a beauty salon and barber for personal grooming, cable TV and Wi-Fi in apartments, and folks can use the emergency alert system for extra security day or night. Activities often reflect what the residents want, showing that they really do listen to those living there, and professional staff help with medication and work to keep everyone as independent as possible. There are special programs and supervision for those with memory issues, services for folks who use wheelchairs, and a care plan-based approach means every resident gets support that fits their own needs. Respite stays let people come for a short visit if they only need help for a little while, and there are devotional services, too, if that's something you value. Martha and Jack, Mrs. Taylor, and the director of public relations, Ashley Young, are contacts there if you ever have questions. Remodeled spaces and ongoing improvements show they keep things up to date, and the staff focus on making life easier and more pleasant while helping people age in place if that's what they want. The Pines of Maysville offers a range of help, both big and small, in a setting that's made to feel calm, social, and safe for everyone living there.

Caring staff, affordable dementia care
I placed my memaw here and, despite an older, dim and somewhat run-down building that could use renovations, the staff were exceptionally kind, attentive and communicative - they kept her room clean, redirected her frustrations, and gave our family real peace of mind. It's inexpensive and family-friendly with suitable dementia care, a fenced shady yard and gazebo, and good nursing/food cleanliness practices. Not fancy, but for the caring team and unbeatable value it was the right decision for us and worth the drive.
