Etowah Landing sits at 809 S Broad St SW in Rome, Georgia, and gives care for older adults who may need some help with daily tasks and also supports those who need more skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or help with memory care because folks tend to stay for just a short bit after a surgery or illness or may call it home for many months or years depending on their needs, and while the place is a licensed nursing home, it also offers assisted and independent living residences with private apartments for residents who have healthcare concerns or need assistance, and the staff includes registered nurses, CNAs, LPNs, certified occupational therapy assistants, and folks like Kimberly McGregory, Breana Mack, Rashauna Dowdy, and Rebecca Roberts, all tending to different parts of care and support, and the team staffs 24/7 to help with medical needs that range from diabetic care and incontinence to tracheotomy care, IV administration, wound care, and caring for people who can't walk or need help to move around, and they have their own proprietary pulmonary program for acute lung problems along with a full-time respiratory team and care for people needing ventilator support. Residents get therapies on-site like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and people work through several rehabilitation programs for things like arthritis, spinal cord injuries, and recovery from strokes, and the rehab program itself has a focus on helping folks get well faster and move toward independence again, and the staff will craft personal care plans for each resident since everybody's needs change, and available routines include regular medical, behavioral, and nutritional screenings, plus careful medication and behavior management. Daily life brings nurturing meals, social activities, and events both on-site and offsite, and there's room for devotional or religious activities for all faiths, plus indoor common spaces where residents can meet, talk, or join in group activities, and for comfort, rooms are well-designed to feel like home. Infection control and hygiene standards are something the staff takes seriously, and post-acute care helps folks recover from surgeries, major illnesses, or injuries under medical supervision, and at the same time Etowah Landing aims to address the social and emotional needs of residents through a warm, family-style community where people feel welcomed and the staff is known for their compassionate care, sometimes even being described as angels by residents and families alike. All services run under a careful set of protocols day and night, and even though it's a busy place with a few hundred employees, the team keeps attention on each person's health, recovery, and peace of mind, and you can learn more about their programs and services on their website, etowahlanding.com.

Compassionate care, but oversight needed
I had a mostly positive experience - staff were kind, attentive and felt like family; therapy/rehab, activities, meals and housekeeping generally helped recovery and kept my loved one comfortable. However, management and communication were inconsistent, and there are troubling reports of medication delays, wound-care/hygiene lapses and denied hospice care, so staffing shortages sometimes required me to push for attention. I recommend the facility for its compassionate, hands-on staff and strong therapy program, but with caution and close oversight.
