    Neglectful care left my grandmother

I chose this adorable, quaint place and quickly learned it's a wolf in sheep's clothing. My grandmother was left alone for hours, fell out of bed, crushed her hip and is now bedridden - staff are clearly understaffed, meals are barely toddler-sized, and management even threatened eviction. The building is clean and some staff are helpful, but the neglect, safety risks and poor care outweigh the low cost.

    About The Tignall House

The Tignall House, located at 185 S Hulin Ave in Tignall, GA, is a small assisted living board and care home with a licensed capacity of up to 12 residents, though sometimes the home-like setting feels like it really fits about 6 to 10 people comfortably, and it's the sort of place where folks can expect careful and personal attention because the staff helps with daily activities like bathing, dressing, toileting, clothing, and medication management, and they'll even handle special dietary needs, diabetes diets, or elevated blood pressure, since meals are made by a cook who prepares food every day and residents eat together in a proper dining room. The community staff includes caregivers who are there and awake around the clock to help with anything from two-person transfers to getting a mobile hairdresser in for those who want grooming services, and sometimes a nurse comes for regular check-ins just to make sure things are going as they should. The Tignall House gives residents a choice of cozy, fully furnished living spaces and studio apartments with unique layouts, along with things like cable or satellite TV, Wi-Fi, phone service, a book room, a game area, and shared spaces such as a fitness room, jacuzzi, or sauna, and you'll find garden areas and outdoor space for relaxing or even just getting fresh air. Housekeeping services keep everything tidy, and scheduled programs keep everyone engaged, whether it's evening events, movie entertainment, fitness and music plans, or even art plans and music therapy, plus animal therapy and good old board games, and for spiritual needs, it's close to six places of worship, with help for transportation if someone wants to go to services or medical appointments or just run errands. The staff focuses on giving care that matches each person's needs and works with healthcare providers when needed, and the place does what it can to make moving in as easy as possible for families, who often find some peace of mind knowing their loved ones are looked after in a supportive, social, and respectful setting. The Tignall House doesn't accept Medicare for payment and isn't geared for acute care or skilled nursing, but rather as a licensed personal care home - sometimes called an Adult Foster Home or Assisted Living Home depending on where you're from - that focuses on comfort, safety, and the independence of seniors in a more residential environment. Services and amenities can change from time to time, but the place does aim to offer activities, entertainment, and wellness programs that keep residents active and connected, with support for memory care and incontinence care if that's needed, so folks really do get care that matches their own unique needs.
