Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, sometimes called Britthaven of the Tri-Cities, is a for-profit nursing home that offers both short-term rehab and long-term skilled nursing care, so folks of different ages stay here, from adults to the elderly, and they can get help recovering from an illness or surgery or manage a long-term health condition, and you can see that they've got 69 certified beds with about 68 residents using the place every day, and with nurse staffing at 3.69 hours per resident per day, they try to make sure people get the care they need, even though the nurse turnover rate sits at 34.0%, which is something to keep in mind; the facility has been under the management of Stephen Hill, Robert Hill, Raymond Hill, Principle Long Term Care, Inc., and Principle IT Services, Inc. since January 2011, with Jeff Wilder named as the current administrator. The place gives you private or semi-private rooms, and residents can use a big therapy gym filled with advanced machines and therapy tools, a cozy beauty salon, a peaceful courtyard for sitting outdoors, and there's cable and secured Wi-Fi included so people can stay connected or entertained, which can matter a lot when you're indoors for long stretches, and even though it tries to keep everyone comfortable, inspection reports show some concerns you'd want to know about, like 14 documented deficiencies so far, with 11 coming from an October 10, 2024 inspection that resulted in an $8,225 fine-that included problems with infection control and making sure meals have the right nutrition, because menus haven't always been planned or reviewed by a dietitian or followed properly, and the center's had some trouble hiring enough qualified nutrition staff. Their dietary services are handled by a registered dietitian who aims to cover personal nutrition needs, offering meal plans that can be adjusted for hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes, and meals come restaurant-style, so everyone sits and orders at the table; even though there were those deficiencies noted, staff keeps working on infection control, as two infection-related issues have been mentioned in inspection reports, but they have services in place to manage wounds and prevent the spread of illness. The staff helps with daily living needs like bathing, walking, eating, dressing, and grooming, and the care team, which includes nurses and therapists, uses a personalized, coordinated approach that takes the whole person into account, helping folks with physical, emotional, and social needs, and offering programs to help people move more easily, get stronger, or recover mobility through physical, occupational, and speech therapies, including support for folks who've had amputations and need help with prostheses, all under supervision from an interdisciplinary care team. There's always an effort to build community, too-with group activities like crafts, gardening, and game days organized so people stay engaged and keep up friendships, and many find some comfort in that surrounded by others who understand what it's like; there are also resources for families and caregivers, and a few recognitions under their belt, such as The Best of Kentucky - Nursing and Rehabilitation and the AHCA/NCAL Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award from 2023, though these don't mean everything's perfect, just that some things are going okay. The Better Business Bureau has given the center an A+ rating, but the most important parts are likely the services and recovery programs for those who need skilled care, a healing environment after a hospital stay, or a place to call home with both medical and personal support available, all aimed at fostering dignity and comfort, although you'll want to look closely at the inspection reports and consider the nutrition and infection control issues before deciding if the facility's the right fit for your situation.

Clean, friendly facility but understaffed
I toured the facility and was impressed - top-notch, spotless, no odors, nicely decorated, with friendly housekeeping and staff who greet residents morning and night; there are lots of activities and residents seemed happy. My main concern was chronic understaffing at meal times: meal assistance was often insufficient and some residents had to wait. Overall a wonderful, clean place but staffing during meals needs improvement.
