    Spotless, homey care with warmth

I placed my mom in this small, family-run assisted living and have real peace of mind - the place is spotless, home-cooked meals, clean dining, lovely outdoor spaces, and engaging activities. The staff are warm, professional and attentive, provide personalized care (excellent medication management and dementia/fall support) and treated her like family. My only gripe is occasional poor phone responsiveness, but overall I highly recommend them.

    About Taylor Lodge

Taylor Lodge sits on Liberty Street in Clio, Michigan, and only takes care of up to six residents at a time, so the place always feels close-knit and calm, which is something some folks really appreciate as they get older and want a quieter place to live. Taylor Lodge is licensed as an Adult Small Group Home and serves people who need assisted living, independent living, memory care, skilled nursing, home care, rehabilitation therapies, continuing care, and respite care, so they help with everything from daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and medication management to more specialized dementia support and extended rehabilitative needs. Each person lives in a fully furnished room, with choices between private suites and shared rooms, and there are private bathrooms and kitchenettes for extra comfort; maintenance, housekeeping, and linen services make everyday life easier, so residents don't have to worry about chores, repairs, or cleaning. Everyone gets homemade meals prepared on-site in the dining room, and the staff pays special attention to dietary needs, which is important for people who have diabetes or other restrictions, and the place is air-conditioned with cable TV, internet, and phones available in the rooms. There's always someone on staff since supervision is 24/7, and the staff handles medication management, arranges transportation for medical visits, and helps residents with transfers if they need extra support getting around. Outside, the gardens and a beautiful back deck give residents a place to relax, take walks, or enjoy some sunshine in quiet, and inside there are plenty of chances to socialize, with scheduled daily activities, movie nights, arts and crafts, and a game room for entertainment, so no one feels left out or bored, unless that's what they want. Community-sponsored activities and easy arrangements for medical appointments add to that sense of routine and security, and the building's small size means everyone gets care that feels personal and familiar, whether they're staying long-term or just there for respite care. The philosophy at Taylor Lodge centers on helping folks in ways that restore health, improve regular living, and support independence while making sure comfort and peace of mind come first for both the residents and their families, and while they don't take Medicare for care unless they're certified, they'll do their best to coordinate with healthcare providers.
