    About Northern Pines Assisted Living

Northern Pines Assisted Living sits as a nonprofit community run by Baruch Senior Ministries, built for seniors needing different kinds of help as they age, and the folks there provide assisted living, independent living, board and care home services, nursing home care, memory care, respite care, and even home care-all under one roof where a person can get more help as their needs change, so you don't have to keep moving around. The buildings are wheelchair accessible, so if you use a wheelchair or have trouble walking, you'll find the doors wide and hallways clear, and staff stay around the clock so someone's there even late at night if you need help with bathing, dressing, taking medicines, or just getting around. When you live here, you get three chef-prepared meals a day, snacks, and if you need a special diet, the meal planners will see to it. While a person is here, they're invited to music therapy, arts and crafts in the arts room, movie nights, community-sponsored and even some resident-run events, walks along the garden path, devotional and spiritual activities, and there's a barber and salon right on site, which makes life easier for those not able to drive. The rooms and common areas use big windows, giving you views of the gardens, and there's a patio and sunroom for soaking up daylight. If you want to get out, transportation's available, and you've got doctors and Mercy Hospital less than a mile away plus the Mercy Physicians Network not far either, and restaurants like Subway and Coffee by Steph within walking distance or a short drive, which does make it easy for family visits. Staff spend time with each resident to create a care plan that fits what each person needs-whether that's diabetic care, incontinence help, non-ambulatory care, coordination with therapists or hospice, or just help with the things that get harder with age. Housekeeping and laundry teams do the chores, and for those who only need a short stay, they offer respite or short-term care too. There's a sense of community here, and even though awards like Best of Senior Living and Best of Senior Living All Star have been given, people talk more about how staff are friendly, patient, and seem to enjoy the work, looking after people kindly and treating visitors with the same warmth. Northern Pines Assisted Living opens its doors for tours, so families and potential residents can meet staff, look around, and get a feel for the place before deciding. Office hours run Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, and all the details about their services can be found on their website at northernpines.org.
