    Warm Christian home, attentive staff

I feel right at home here - a warm, Christian, family-like place with friendly, attentive staff who provide 24/7 one-on-one, safe care. The manager is amazing; home-cooked meals, meds, grooming, bathing and Hoyer-lift transfers are handled reliably. The beautiful property (sheep and chickens), living rooms with TV and piano, dining/kitchen and many programs - art, music, dog therapy, Children Helping Seniors and body/mind activities - make life stimulating, though memory-care residents could use more activities. Most rooms are doubles (private rooms available). It isn't free and fees can be higher than expected/advertising unclear, but staff are incredible - I would recommend it.

    About META-CARE

META-CARE, operating under license number AM440418186 at 423 W Dryden Rd, Metamora, MI 48455, carried a license for adult foster care and homes for the aged from January 19, 2024, but closed its doors as of May 14, 2024, and provided a small, private house setting for up to 10 adults aged 55 and older, including those living with Alzheimer's, dementia, mental illness, traumatic brain injuries, and physical handicaps, and within this medium group home setting, residents could get help with daily living tasks like bathing or dressing, memory care with anti-wandering systems, medication management, and high-acuity care for recovery after illness or injury, while a licensed and trained staff gave round-the-clock support and provided hospice services for comfort and dignity toward the end of life. Residents got three meals a day, including kosher and vegetarian options, could gather in common indoor or outdoor areas, and had access to private rooms with private, wheelchair-accessible showers, and laundry and linen service were in-house, so people didn't have to worry about outside vendors for those necessities, and, for getting around, there was free transportation, paid rides, and connection to nearby public transport, so folks could keep some independence and visit town or medical appointments. For entertainment and connection, the home had arts and crafts, TV lounges, group activities, musical nights, and even on-site religious or devotional services for those who wanted them, and there were studio apartments, a beautician on-site, and accessible tubs for those with special needs, while the setting encouraged friendships and regular socializing. The community aimed to be warm and kind, with each person receiving personalized assisted living services, and the staff, all properly licensed by the state, treated everyone with compassion and patience. The financial side had options, accepting credit card and check payments, and residents could get help with VA benefits, cost assistance, and financial questions, and META-CARE also provided account management features online and support for privacy protections like Meta Pay and Meta AI, and allowed family to communicate with Messenger, Facebook Lite, and Instagram Threads. The focus at META-CARE was on maintaining independence and dignity, meeting each person's unique needs through a wide range of services, while offering comfort, safety, and respect every day.
