    Kind staff home-like clean community

I'm very pleased overall: the staff are consistently kind, attentive and professional, the community is clean and home-like, with homemade meals, plenty of activities and nice outdoor/windows spaces in a rural setting. My family felt supported (even through hospice) and residents seemed well cared for and comfortable, though some rooms are smaller or a bit dated and it may not suit every specific care need. I recommend touring to see if it's the right fit for your loved one.

    About Sandalwood Valley

Sandalwood Valley gives older adults many different care choices, and the staff pays close attention to each person's needs, so there are personalized care plans for everyone, and you can find both assisted living and memory care here, which means people get help with daily tasks or more specialized support for things like Alzheimer's and dementia. The place has private and shared rooms, some with kitchenettes, air-conditioning, and WiFi, plus ground floor access, which is helpful for folks who need it. There's a dining room that serves diabetic and vegetarian meals, and there's even a cooking club if someone likes to help out in the kitchen, plus you get your meals taken care of, and the staff does the laundry and housekeeping, so you don't have to worry about that. People like to spend time in the lounge or TV room, and sometimes you see a group in the arts and crafts area, or gathered together for holiday parties, Wii bowling, or just listening to live music in the common spaces, and the building has a garden, outdoor patios, and a spot for BBQs or picnics when the weather is good.

Sandalwood Valley looks out for people's health with services like physical therapy, medication management, diabetic care, and hospice care if someone needs it, and you can see nurses on staff and even therapists and a visiting physician. Folks can also go to an onsite beautician or barber, use the communal spaces for games and activities, or just enjoy the quiet of their own room with cable TV. There's a pharmacy right there on the property, and care teams help with everything from reminders to take medicine, to personal care and psychiatric support for mental health, because a lot of different needs come up as people age. Independent living is an option for some, and the place even lets pets in certain rooms, so residents don't have to give up on having their animal friends. Sandalwood Valley keeps a calm, home-like feeling, tries to keep everyone safe, and lets people be as independent as they're able, which means each person is treated as an individual and can usually choose their own routines or take part in group activities if they want, and there's always someone around to help if things get hard.

Sandalwood Valley is licensed by the state with the numbers AM500408293 and AM500408396, has studios and companion apartments, lets people pay by check, and makes a point of offering care types from assisted living to memory care and more, including short-term respite stays for those who need a break or extra help for a while. Families who need support with Alzheimer's or dementia can find specialty care here, and staff specialize in a lot of areas, so there's support for complex medical needs or just some help with day-to-day life. There's cable, fast internet, and community events, so even though sometimes life gets quieter as people age, there's still a lot you can do if you're here, whether that's spending time with others, enjoying some music, or sitting outside when the sun is shining.
