    Consistently excellent care and service

I’ve had a consistently good experience here — the staff are helpful, responsive, kind, and understanding. The Mother’s Day meal was lovely; I have no concerns and would highly recommend this facility.

    About Country Sunset

Country Sunset sits on about eight acres in the rural farming town of Hatch, New Mexico, and you'll find there's plenty of space and fresh air with open grounds, shaded spots, gardens, and a good-sized pond with fish waiting right outside the door, so if someone wants to sit out on a bench, watch the ducks, or pick a few tomatoes, they can do that at their own pace with nobody in a hurry. The place stays small on purpose, keeping up to 20 people in 15 private rooms, most ranging from 126 to 189 square feet, and each room has its own bathroom, plus heat and air that residents can control so they're always as comfortable as they want to be, and the views through those big windows out onto the orchard aren't hard to take, especially when the fruit trees are blooming.

The staff at Country Sunset are around all the time, not just to keep things tidy or cook family-style meals in the dining room, but to help with bathing, dressing, transfers, and other parts of daily living if anyone needs it, and memory care's a top focus here with caregivers and nurses who know how to support people with Alzheimer's or other memory problems, and they work with a wander guard system to help keep everyone safe without making the place feel locked down. Pets are allowed too, with clear rules about size, so there's always a few dogs napping in the sun or cats by the window, and that seems to add to the whole homey feeling.

Walking paths loop through wheelchair-friendly grounds, and there's a butterfly garden, hummingbird garden, and raised beds for those who want to keep their hands in the dirt, plus lots of shaded sitting areas for residents and visitors to gather and talk. Indoors, there are shared lounges, a TV room, a library, a woodworking shop, and game areas, and community life stays lively with a schedule full of activities, from arts and crafts to movie nights or even themed barbeques outside. There's a fitness room for those who want to stay active and an on-site beautician if anyone needs a haircut or a bit of pampering.

Security's managed by attentive staff, a security gate, and a full 24-hour call system, with nurses on hand and doctors on call if needed. They handle medication management, help arrange appointments and transportation, and offer special support for folks with diabetes or mobility challenges. Country Sunset also does what it can to support residents' spiritual and social needs with both on-site and off-site devotional services plus trips into the nearby community. Veterans living here have easy access to the local VA Hospital, and the community keeps connections with medical providers in Las Cruces.

Residents can pick from private, semi-private, studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or condo and townhome options, all of which are set up for comfort and safety with features like cable, Wifi, kitchenettes, phones, and laundry and housekeeping service. Country Sunset covers everything from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing, respite, and hospice care, so as people's needs change, they don't have to move away, and the on-site team adapts care to each person. Groceries, errands, meal prep, and special diets are all handled as needed, with menus for diabetic or vegetarian diets, and family-style dining in common areas makes meals social and relaxed. Room rates for assisted living start at $4,142 per month and up.

People here can join regular devotional gatherings, garden clubs, woodworking, or help run special resident-led and staff-led events-so no day has to feel the same as the last. Country Sunset goes with green-built construction and advanced air movement technology, aiming for a healthy environment, while special carpeting and layout help folks age in place, even if they start having mild dementia or physical trouble. The community's not fancy, but it feels like a real home, and there's a steady focus on keeping residents secure, comfortable, and as independent as possible.
