    Amazing personalized care, peaceful home

I'm so grateful - the caregivers and staff are amazing, providing personalized, high-level care in a clean, home-like, serene setting. Mom is well-fed, engaged in activities, keeps her independence, and our family finally has the peace of mind we needed; choosing this place was the best thing we did for her.

About House of Peace Family Care Home for Seniors

House of Peace Family Care Home for Seniors sits in a regular house in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has only six licensed beds, which makes it feel close-knit and calm, kind of like a big family with both staff and residents looking out for each other, and because it's small, every person gets more attention with personalized care plans approved by a registered nurse. Residents get help with daily things like bathing, dressing, eating, going to the bathroom, grooming, and managing medicines, plus someone's always there for reminders and companionship, so nobody's alone or uncared for. The place runs around the clock with supervision and has staff called Resident Ambassadors who know a lot about aging, ethical care, mobility, behavior, palliative care, and preventing abuse, and there's always safety in mind with emergency systems in place and strict protocols to keep everybody secure.

This home covers everything from assisted living to memory care for folks with dementia or Alzheimer's, with added help for those with mobility issues, diabetes, or those needing incontinence care, which is handy since House of Peace offers proprietary programs for that. There's a visiting physician, and physical therapists, plus the staff can work with hospice providers or home health workers as needed, making sure health monitoring is regular and up to each person's needs. If someone needs a break or short-term help, they offer respite and adult day services too. All the rooms are private and even have kitchenettes with kitchen appliances, giving everyone a bit of independence and comfort, and there are roll-in bathtubs for bathing and personal time.

Meals are home-cooked, with daily menus and snacks tailored for special diets like diabetic, vegetarian, kosher, low-fat, or low-sodium, and a dietitian can get involved. Everybody eats together in the dining area, drinks and snacks included, so there's a nice bit of togetherness during the day. Laundry, cleaning, bed making, and general housekeeping are regular services, so family members don't need to worry about chores getting done. The home doesn't allow pets, which suits folks who might prefer a quiet and allergy-free place.

Amenities include lush and well-kept gardens where residents can walk or just sit outside, cozy living rooms for visits or relaxing, a computer room, cable TV, laundry spaces, private visiting areas, and religious spaces where people can join onsite worship for Christian, Buddhist, Islamic, or Adventist traditions. Social life stays lively with events like music nights, arts and crafts, garden walks, games, and holiday or birthday celebrations. Residents can go to scheduled fitness sessions, art classes, music programs, and horticultural activities that help everyone stay active in mind, body, and spirit.

Transportation's covered for medical visits or trips, and there's parking for residents. The staff offers help escorting residents out, and they make sure everyone has phone assistance, too. Security is a top priority, and the small setting makes it easier for staff to notice if someone needs help right away. Staff go through reference checks and learn about ethics and behavior, and the state regularly inspects the place to keep their license up to date.

Families can talk to Senior Living Advisors if they want advice finding the right care fit and get support all the way through the decision-making process. House of Peace doesn't list prices publicly, but families can find out about availability and services easily by reaching out. Reviews get verified through a trusted third party, so feedback is pretty reliable. Residents can find a warm, homelike setting here with a lot of support, safe routines, nutritious food, and an experienced team that values dignity and respect.
