    Compassionate professional care; highly recommended

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased - the staff are kind, compassionate and professional, the care and medication management are excellent, and communication is attentive. The building is spotless and welcoming, meals and snacks are good, and there's a full schedule of activities that keep residents engaged. Memory care is thoughtfully run and outings/family nights are meaningful. It's pricey and we had a couple of administrative/billing hiccups, but overall we feel confident and would highly recommend this community.

    About Morningside of Concord

Morningside of Concord sits about 2.7 miles outside of Concord, North Carolina, in a peaceful, green area surrounded by trees. This large community offers assisted living, memory care, respite care, and independent living options, all on one campus. It's part of the Five Star Senior Living network, and there's a staff team that creates a home-like feeling and helps residents with bathing, dressing, daily housekeeping, and medication management, plus a full-time registered nurse who does wellness checks. The community provides a range of rooms, including studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, suite, semi-private, shared, and companion layouts, some with kitchenettes, full kitchens, in-suite climate control, and private bathrooms. There are private, semi-private, and companion-style apartments, so folks can pick what suits them best.

People who stay here have access to meals served daily in nice dining rooms, with flexible meal plans and a MyChoice Dining Program. On top of that, meals follow dietary needs, with low salt options available. Residents take part in many activities and programs-like computer classes, Tai Chi, yoga, stretching, arts and crafts, games, music, and literary events. The facility plans trips, has volunteer opportunities, clubs, group outings, and promotes hobbies for different interests, including fitness programs and life enrichment activities.

Outdoor areas are a big part of Morningside of Concord, so there are community gardens, a gazebo, a dog park, green walking paths, a lake, a pond, park areas, as well as two pools: one heated indoor pool and one outdoor pool, plus the Cottages Clubhouse with another indoor pool. The grounds are gated for safety. There are communal spaces such as an activity studio, library, card and game room, movie theater for movie nights, and private dining rooms for special family visits. Amenities also include a beauty salon and barbershop, spa, bar/cocktail lounge, guest parking, computer workstations, internet, basic cable, satellite TV, and a concierge service.

The community allows pets and sometimes even has pet therapy, though no cats or dogs live in the facility itself, but residents can visit the dog park or take part in pet activities. Medical services include transportation for doctor visits, medication reminders and administration, an on-site pharmacy, regular doctor visits, and emergency call systems in each apartment. There's also in-house therapy like physical, occupational, and speech therapy for those who need it.

Security and support staff are on duty around the clock, especially important in their memory care wing, which uses a program called Bridge to Rediscovery for people with Alzheimer's or dementia and has special safety features. The community has earned recognition as "Best Assisted Living" multiple times and follows the Five Star Values, focusing on comfort, warmth, and respect. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services all come standard, as does transportation to stores and appointments. Religious services take place on-site in the chapel, while clubs, resident events, social engagement, and a thriving, active lifestyle are encouraged. Morningside of Concord offers insurance acceptance, financial guidance, respite care for short stays, and helps residents adjust services as needs change with continuing care available over time. The community environment is comfortable and encourages social involvement without pressure, bringing a simple and steady pace to daily life.
