    Resort-style amenities, pricey with caveats

I love the resort-style, active lifestyle here - huge clubhouse, pools, gym, restaurant/bar, tons of clubs and friendly neighbors; staff (Brad and others) were welcoming and the move-in was smooth. The property and social scene are gorgeous and well maintained, but homes feel overpriced with high HOA fees. Ongoing construction, crowded roads, narrow/poorly lit sidewalks, hilly trails and some safety/design issues are real downsides. Worse, builder/warranty and management follow-through can be spotty (Shea problems cited), so buyer beware despite the lovely amenities. Overall I enjoy living here but wouldn't blindly recommend it without checking post-close service and costs.

About Trilogy® Lake Norman | 55+ Resort Community

Trilogy® Lake Norman | 55+ Resort Community sits in Lincoln County, close to Charlotte, and has been designed for folks aged 55 and older who want an active pace but still enjoy some peace and quiet. The community covers 606 acres and is right near Lake Norman, which is North Carolina's largest lake, so residents can go boating, fishing, or just enjoy the water, and membership in the Freedom Boat Club lets them use a fleet of boats, even if they don't own one. Walking, jogging, biking, and hiking trails wind throughout the neighborhood, giving neighbors a chance to step out together or alone each day, and there's plenty of greenspace along with a community patio for gathering.

Single-family homes come with flexible floorplans and options like garage additions, sunrooms, and bay windows, and range from 1,569 to 2,387 square feet with 2-4 bedrooms and 2-4.5 bathrooms, all built by Shea Homes-a name many know and trust in this area for active adult neighborhoods. Home styles are new and include smart home features through SheaConnect®, and there are models open daily for those who wish to take a closer look. Security comes from a gated entry with a guardhouse.

The Twin Mills Club, 30,000 square feet at the center, acts as a gathering spot and is only for residents. Here, folks gather in spaces like The Grand Living Room or The Foundry restaurant, which serves food with a southern twist. The club holds an indoor lap pool, resort-style outdoor pool, fitness center, art studio, interactive demonstration kitchen, meeting space, sports and media room with billiards and poker tables, and even a movement studio for exercise classes. The Outfitter space loans out kayaks and bikes for those wanting more adventure outside, and there are tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball courts, as well as an amphitheater for music and performances.

Social activities are easy to find, with a calendar full of clubs, art classes, and special events, and the community often partners with local marinas, fishing guides, and boat rentals so people can explore Lake Norman or relax by the water. Other amenities at Trilogy® Lake Norman include a café, an outdoor bar, lounge areas, a party room, and a community clubhouse. Many enjoy the sport courts, parks, trails, and the many gathering places for neighbors to meet.

For medical needs, residents have nearby access to Charlotte-area hospitals, urgent care, and the Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center. Everyday needs are met with local restaurants, stores, banks, and pharmacies all within a short drive. For outings, the area offers easy trips to golf courses, museums, art venues, as well as sporting events for teams like the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets, and it's less than two hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, and Hendersonville. The sales office sits at 310 Exploration Blvd, Denver, NC, and prospective residents can explore FAQs, a homebuying glossary, or visit the six different home models on site.

With a focus on creating a sense of community and offering many activities for people who like to stay active or make new friends, Trilogy® Lake Norman tries to make sure everyone finds something to do. The community brings in extras like My Shea Home Benefits, SheaSignature® specialized amenities, and Pure Living® services, all handled by Shea Homes for those aged 55 and up who want their own home in a peaceful, resort-like setting near the lake.
