    Warm staff, tasty dining, inconsistencies

I had a very positive tour and found the staff warm, personable and helpful - they made move-in smooth and residents seemed happy. The dining is restaurant-style and tasty in a comfortable dining room, and there are plenty of activities (though staffing and the activity program can be inconsistent at times). Rooms vary: some are spacious and bright, others are outdated with small closets and no kitchen; grounds and common areas are generally well kept but I saw maintenance issues (ceiling leak, occasional odors). It's clean and comforting overall, but pricing, billing/pharmacy glitches and occasional management/staff turnover give me pause - I'd recommend it, with reservations.

    About Brookdale High Point

Brookdale High Point sits in High Point, NC, and spreads out its care across independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing home services so folks can find the help they need as things change, with a big campus that's got plenty of space to gather or head off on your own, whether someone's stopping in for physical therapy, enjoying guided worship, getting their haircut at the salon, settling in with a book in the sunlit library, or joining a game in the activity rooms. You'll find dining rooms set up for shared meals and restaurant-style service, lots of cozy corners for sitting by a fireplace, spots for arts and crafts, or just looking out over the courtyard when the weather's nice. Residents can walk safe paths-some folks bring their pets-or join programs like gardening or life enrichment activities, and the staff always puts safety first with controlled access to the building, emergency call systems, and 24-hour care teams that know how to help, right down to medication support and memory care expertise for people with dementia or Alzheimer's. The folks here get personalized care plans based on what they need, whether that's help with bathing, dressing, medication, or just laundry and home upkeep, and they can use the transportation service for appointments or outings around town. Rooms vary, from studios and one-bedrooms to two-bedrooms, and you can pick furnished or unfurnished, with some units set up for extra privacy-there's both semi-private and private suites, and everything's fully accessible, even in the nursing and memory care areas. Nurses and therapy teams offer wound care, occupational therapy, podiatry, and more, with wellness programs that encourage fellowship, fitness, and learning. The property's got a beauty/barber shop, guest parking, washers and dryers, Wi-Fi and cable, plenty of club rooms, and even options for at-home care. Housekeeping and maintenance services come standard so residents don't have to worry about chores, and everything's designed for comfort and daily living, with safety features like keypad entry and a sprinkler system built right in. Brookdale High Point accepts new residents when there's space-you just need to check on wait lists or move-in rules, and staff will explain all the details about care levels, costs, and what to expect, including signature programs and tailored activities for memory care. Whether someone wants to live independently, get a bit of help, needs skilled nursing, or, in time, requires structured dementia support, the community's meant to keep aging folks comfortable and safe for as long as possible. There's virtual tours for families who can't visit yet, and the whole setup aims to support every resident's changing needs, from social outings and meals to health checks and daily routines, all on one campus.
