    Kind staff but management issues

I had a mixed experience. I found the staff I interacted with kind, helpful and experienced, and leadership/owners clearly committed (they kept COVID out and show genuine dedication). However, management felt lax, common areas smelled of urine, and residents were sometimes ignored or staff distracted - so I can't give five stars despite many happy, well-cared-for residents.

    About Hunter Village

Hunter Village sits at 111 S. Church St. in Huntersville, NC, serving seniors with a wide range of care needs under the All About Seniors organization, and it's licensed for up to 60 residents under the North Carolina Department of Social Services, which means it follows set guidelines for care and safety. The facility offers assisted living, independent living, memory care for those who need extra support with Alzheimer's or other cognitive issues, hospice care for end-of-life support, and respite care for short-term stays, and these services fit seniors who want to keep as much independence as they can while still having steady help around. You'll find caregivers on duty all day and night for emergencies, helping with things like bathing, dressing, grooming, using the bathroom, managing insulin, two-person transfers, and moving from bed to wheelchairs if needed, with extra help for non-ambulatory or incontinence care or diabetes, and the staff uses unique names for its care programs.

Residents get three homemade meals each day, with chefs and meal planners who can adjust dishes for health conditions like hypertension or diabetes so you don't have to think about shopping or cooking. There's housekeeping and linen services, shared indoor and outdoor spaces where folks can visit or relax, and a small library, beauty salon, restaurant-style dining room, sauna or wellness room, jacuzzi, and other spots for comfort and social time, making daily life a little easier. There's a focus on wellness with mental health programs, regular fitness schedules, music therapy, animal visits, devotional and offsite activities, and art and movie events, plus group games and social nights to foster a sense of community.

Hunter Village is built to be accessible for wheelchairs, with air conditioning and parking set aside for visitors and residents, and it's fully furnished to help new arrivals settle in smoothly. People can use a client login portal, sign up for information, check an event calendar, and even see updates or order magazines online, which helps families stay connected and involved. The staff provides transportation for medical appointments, errands, and trips to faith-based gatherings, and the building is designed so people can enjoy both privacy and social time as they prefer. With on-site nursing for medical issues, staff trained in basic caregiving, and diet and personal care tailored to individual needs, Hunter Village aims to make life safer, more comfortable, and supportive without fuss or pressure, giving older adults a good place to call home as their needs change.
