    Compassionate care with some issues

I was admitted for rehab and received excellent, compassionate care - nurses and therapists were skilled, attentive, and helped me regain strength. The building was clean and welcoming, activities and food were generally good, and administration was helpful with benefits and transitions. Staff repeatedly went above and beyond and made me feel like family. I did experience occasional disorganization, slow communication, understaffing, and a few troubling discharge/placement and meal issues. Overall I'd recommend this facility for rehab or longer stays, but be proactive with paperwork and discharge plans.

About Olde Knox Commons AT the Villages of Mecklenburg Inc

Olde Knox Commons AT the Villages of Mecklenburg Inc sits in the Huntersville, NC area, and offers different living choices for older adults, so some people come here for independent living with kitchens or kitchenettes, their own washers and dryers, cable TV, and all the usual safety features like sprinkler systems and handicap access, and others need more help and use the assisted living services for care with dressing, bathing, grooming, getting to meals, and medication management, plus there's memory care with special attention, memory-enhancing activities, and 24-hour support for folks with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and then there's a skilled nursing facility for those who need things like wound care, pain management, cardiac care, congestive heart failure care, IV therapy, pulmonary care, and full nursing support around the clock, and there's a whole list of therapies like physical, occupational, and speech, so people who are recovering from surgery can even pre-register through their Pre-registration Program to make the move from hospital to rehab easier. The building has peaceful living rooms, sun rooms, porches, activity rooms, inside courtyards, and outside gardens that make it feel home-like, and big dining rooms where folks eat family-style and get the chance to talk, and residents get meals, housekeeping, guest parking, internet, and even a salon or barbershop, with transportation available and walking or wheelchair help when needed, so things go a little smoother for everyone. There are social activities, arts and crafts, games, health and wellness programs, and chances for education, since keeping people active and connected is a big part of daily life here, and there's a focus on helping folks keep their independence for as long as possible, with care that's tailored to what each person wants and needs. There are long-term and short-term stays, hospice care, respite stays to give caregivers a break, and personal care assistants always around offering help when needed, and everybody gets a plan that's aimed at the highest physical, cognitive, and social function possible, thanks to their clinical staff and hands-on support. Some people use long term care insurance to cover the estimated monthly costs, which range from $2,535 to $8,368 depending on the type of care needed, and this place gets decent reviews, scoring a 4.0 from the 47 reviewers who've left feedback. There's even the Progressive PATH Program using evidence-based practices to help people avoid hospital trips and support them coming back home safely. Here, residents have access to medical care like nurses, podiatry visits, wound care, and medication support, and families find help with guidance for long-term care or insurance questions, so while not perfect, it's the kind of place that puts warmth and steady support front and center every day for seniors at all different levels of need.
