The Landings of Cabarrus offers several care options for seniors, and folks can choose between independent living, assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and short-term respite care, so if someone needs help for just a little bit, that's available too, and there are also shared residential care homes for those who need a live-in caregiver. They pay a lot of attention to privacy and create individualized care plans, with help from senior care experts available for guidance during move-in and through assessments and waiting list policies. The staff help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, so residents don't have to worry about those things, and folks with memory challenges get special support in safe settings meant to prevent confusion or wandering. There are personal care assistants who help out, including walking and wheelchair assistance, plus options for using long-term care insurance. Meals are prepared with good ingredients, and there are balanced menus to meet different dietary needs, which matters to a lot of people. Residents can use washers and dryers, have cable TV, and the building has safety features like sprinkler systems, along with regular housekeeping, maintenance, and internet access. The community's got areas like game rooms, a dining room, fitness center, and salon/barbershop, along with features for those who need extra safety or accessibility. You'll find transportation services, and the property is managed on-site, with guest parking, kitchens or kitchenettes for greater independence, and different care choices as people's needs change over time. The staff are known for being kind and friendly, making the environment feel welcoming, and the place offers programs for health and fitness, arts and crafts, educational activities, devotionals, and regular social events, so no one gets bored and everyone can join in as much or as little as they want. Residents get help understanding benefits like Medicaid, long-term care insurance, and veteran's programs through educational presentations, and state-of-the-art amenities try to keep everyone comfortable and safe. The Landings of Cabarrus focuses on letting people maintain their independence as much as possible, and every service aims to support each person's unique needs. The community has online ways to request tours or more information, along with photo galleries and info packets to look through before deciding.
Caring staff troubling management issues
I had mixed experiences. The community is attractive, often clean, rooms come furnished with kitchenettes, activities and outings are frequent, and many frontline staff are caring and go above and beyond. But leadership and administration are seriously lacking - high turnover, short staffing, poor communication (no returned calls), access/doorbell problems, equipment failures, pest/cleaning issues, delayed meds and safety incidents. Bottom line: great caregivers and a lovely campus on paper, but managerial failures make me hesitant to recommend it until staffing, safety, and administration improve.
