Cone Health Penn Nursing Center sits within the Cone Health network and looks after adults with different health needs, offering both inpatient and outpatient care so people can come for a short visit or stay for a while, and the building has spaces that are comfortable and clean, with friendly staff at the front desk ready to help visitors. There's a secure environment, so security guards and a visitor log-in system are in place, and the place encourages families to come, with a family council that meets every month so relatives can give feedback and stay in the loop about what's happening. The team includes more than a hundred nurses, social workers, dietitians, physician's assistants, and support staff, all focused on giving safe care and respecting residents' dignity and independence. There are private rooms, and residents are welcome to fill their space with things that matter to them, like photos or their own furniture, which helps make it feel a bit more homelike. Nurses and nursing assistants are around all day and night with a 24-hour call system, and help is always available for daily activities, medication, meals, and personal care. The center has strong rehabilitation services, with therapies for people who've had surgery or deal with heart or memory problems, and there are programs for conditions like congestive heart failure and COPD too. Skilled nursing, memory care, respite care, assisted living, and end-of-life care are all available, and the nursing staff try to offer support that meets each person's individual needs and gives both physical and emotional care. Emergency services run 24/7, and the hospital side offers advanced medical and surgical services, including imaging, IV medications, outpatient rehab, and care for cancer, heart, and bones. People say the building looks nice and feels supportive, and nurses working here have chances to keep learning and make a difference for people in the community. Residents and families can expect a stable, caring setting where the focus is on recovery, comfort, and a good quality of life, and the entire approach tries to support health and well-being in a simple, steady way.

Clean facility but unsafe, understaffed
I have mixed feelings. The facility is very clean, well-kept, part of a hospital, with good food, therapy, and many compassionate, long-tenured day staff who greet residents and address issues promptly. However it's clearly short-staffed and overworked - long waits for bathroom/help buttons (sometimes over an hour), delayed care, little doctor visibility, poor night coverage, and I've seen staff yell at patients and COVID/safety/communication lapses. Because of repeated lapses and a lack of accountability, I'm transferring my mom and would advise caution.
