    Mostly positive with occasional issues

I moved my parent here and overall we're happy. The staff are kind, helpful and available 24/7, the building is beautiful and very clean, and on-site care/therapy, med management and amenities make daily life easy. Meals and activities are plentiful (though food quality/portioning and activity engagement can be inconsistent) and staffing/onboarding and occasional management changes have been a downside. Convenient location and peace of mind make it worth considering-just watch contract terms and potential rent increases.

    About Oak Park Retirement

Oak Park Retirement Gracious Retirement Living gives people fifty-five and older a place to live that's good for staying active and social, with housing choices like studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments in over thirty floor plans you can personalize, and you'll find things like wide bathrooms, walk-in showers, and an emergency pull cord in every unit, since safety and comfort matter. Residents live in a family-style community with live-in managers around all day and night to answer needs, and there's always staff on-site to provide support, seven days a week. The community serves three meals made from scratch every day in a dining area where folks get to sit together, and snacks are offered round the clock along with a coffee bar for relaxed visits or puzzle games. People can bring their pets and stroll along the well-kept gardens and walking paths, and there's a chapel onsite for worship if you want it, plus a crafts room, a library for reading, a fitness center, and a salon for hair care without needing to leave the grounds. Oak Park Retirement has plenty of places to gather for books, conversation, or just some quiet time, and you'll see many planned activities-folks join in creative writing groups, garden clubs, craft projects, fitness classes, and lots of scheduled outings for shopping or appointments, since transportation in town comes with the monthly rent. There are always chances to try something new, like travel programs that let you stay as a guest in other communities for up to a week, and community members might sign up for cooking demos, discussion groups, or cultural events on most days. There's weekly housekeeping and linen changes, home maintenance and utilities included, and a homecare provider who's reliable and nearby for those who need more care, whether that's assisted living, memory care, nursing, or just an extra hand with daily tasks. Residents have the option to view the community, apartments, and meet the staff during a tour anytime between 7:30 in the morning and 7 in the evening, every day, so you can see firsthand how daily life feels with friendly people in a safe and caring place, all starting at $2,580 a month for independent living.
