    Clean facility, caring staff, recommended

I'm very pleased with this senior living community - spotless, beautifully kept grounds and building, a warm, home-like atmosphere, tasty meals, and an active calendar that keeps residents engaged. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive and caring (leadership and activities team especially strong), so I never worried about my loved one's comfort. A few caveats: staffing/management can be uneven at times (weekends/shift coverage), pricing and extra fees were sometimes unclear, and it may not suit people with high physical or cognitive needs. Overall, I highly recommend this team.

    About Navion of Shelby

Navion of Shelby sits in Shelby, North Carolina, offering seniors a range of living options like independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, home care, adult day services, and even hospice care, so you really get all kinds of care needs in one place, and the staff are there around the clock, all week long, ready to help with things like bathing, dressing, or taking medicine when needed, since the care is always personalized and based on what each resident needs as they change over time. Folks can pick from different apartment types, including the Ashton Suite, Gatwick Suite, and Oxford Suite, with options for cozy studios or one- and two-bedroom apartments, sometimes furnished, sometimes with private bathrooms and air conditioning, and the sizes range from a snug 210-square-foot room up to a roomy 474-square-foot place, so there's really something for different tastes or needs, and pets are welcome, too. The place stays busy with activity rooms, game rooms, garden spaces, a shaded patio, a porch swing, and lush landscaped outdoor spots for sitting or gardening, and you'll see wellness centers and a fitness room where they hold classes or offer physical therapy to promote mobility, and there's even a wellness spa and beauty salon so the residents can look after themselves without leaving the building. There's always something to do, with activities planned every day, including fitness classes, walking clubs, game nights, gardening, outings to parks or local restaurants, trips to worship places, and both resident-run and community-sponsored events, plus a small library and computer center for those wanting to read or use the internet. The dining program serves daily meals with snacks and can handle special dietary needs, and the dining room has tables set up for people to share a meal together, while housekeeping, linen, and in-house maintenance services take care of the chores, so the residents don't have to worry about cleaning or repairs. If someone needs extra care-for example, help getting around, dressing, bathing, or managing medications-it's available through assisted living or skilled nursing, and for folks dealing with memory loss or dementia, there's a secure memory care unit with special programs and spaces designed for comfort and routine, focusing on person-centered care and memory-enhancing activities, always keeping dignity in mind. The place arranges transportation for medical appointments, runs, grocery trips, and outings, and families can visit anytime since the community welcomes visitors, plus there's respite care for caregivers who need a short break. Residents get emergency help fast with the 24-hour call system in every apartment, and there's always supervision and support so people feel safe. Besides that, all apartments have cable, internet, telephone service, and controls for their own comfort, and there's always fresh meals, snacks, laundry, and regular activities, so everyone stays engaged, active, and comfortable. The atmosphere is warm and home-like, with staff who care about making sure each person can live as independently and happily as possible for as long as they can.
