    Unsafe, unclean, poorly managed facility

I placed a family member here and had mixed but mostly negative experiences. Chronic understaffing and poor management left residents unsafe - broken bathrooms, urine smells, reduced/low-quality food, medication and vital-sign mishandling, hidden accident reports, injuries and other abuse/safety incidents. A few caregivers were kind and new ownership has made some improvements, but overall it felt unclean, poorly run, and I would not recommend it.

    About Harmony House Memory Care

Harmony House Memory Care sits on Eufola Road in Statesville and gives seniors a safe, cozy place to live when they need help with memory problems like Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and you'll find they're really focused on helping people with all the little things that crop up each day-bathing, dressing, meals, medication-without making folks feel uncomfortable or out of place, because their staff, even the nurses, they're trained for dementia care and always around to make sure everyone stays safe, especially since they've got doors and outdoor areas set up so nobody wanders off or gets confused. The rooms, whether private or semi-private, feel homelike and have enough space for personal things, and there are comfortable, sunny corners where people can sit and chat or join in on daily activities; crafts, games, gentle exercise, and holiday celebrations are planned out to keep minds active and bodies moving, and whether someone likes a quiet moment with a puzzle or joining a group for music, there's always something to choose. Residents get nutritious meals every day, prepared with dietary needs in mind, and if anybody needs a hand with eating or just figuring out what they want, the staff helps with that too. There are nurses and therapists on call, and arrangements for transportation to doctor visits or even group outings nearby, and the outdoor spaces-they're secure but you can still get fresh air, even if someone uses a wheelchair or needs some extra help. The facility stays pet-friendly, and Wi-Fi reaches into the rooms, which helps families keep in touch, and you'll notice a general feeling of warmth and calm, part of what folks mention when they talk about Harmony House, because the care team tries to really know each resident, not just by a file but by what they enjoy or need, whether it's therapy, help with memory games, or just a friendly face nearby. Harmony House offers respite, hospice, and dementia care under the right circumstances, and their clinical staff, including geriatric physicians, makes sure needs are met as they change. The facility's design helps minimize confusion, with thoughtful lighting and clear, accessible paths, and for those needing assistance with things like grooming or laundry or medication, it's handled quietly and kindly. The community hosts both assisted living and memory care, and everyone has access to recreation, security, and a sense of belonging, with special touches like community rooms, scheduled transportation, and gentle supervision day and night, all while making sure safety and dignity stay front and center for every resident.
