    Caring staff, good care, issues

I had a very positive experience overall - the facility was clean, welcoming and felt like home, and the staff were genuinely caring, professional and communicative. My loved one made measurable rehab progress and received compassionate end-of-life care; staff kept us updated and coordinated transfers well. I did notice some drawbacks others mentioned too: intermittent doctor/nursing availability, occasional documentation or communication errors, and isolated unprofessional behavior (including concerns about sedating medications). Despite that, I would recommend this facility for short- or long-term care.

About LSS The Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation

LSS The Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Campus sits at 622 Center St, Ashland, Ohio, providing care and support for seniors in the area, and it seems like folks know it as a place with comfortable rooms, landscaped gardens, and a big campus feeling that helps people feel a little more at ease while they get the help they need, whether that's long-term care, short-term rehab after a hospital stay, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy. The staff has licensed healthcare professionals, and you'll find a lot of services under one roof, like wound care, medication management, memory care, palliative and hospice care, respite care for families, and even dialysis right on site with the new dialysis center, and they've got that ventilator care unit too, which is good for people who need extra breathing support, plus there's memory care with the Windsor Abbey Secure Memory Care Program. The campus offers personalized care plans, and the team often hosts daily activities-bingo, music therapy, Bible study-and they take residents out to things in Ashland, like concerts and events, for a bit of fun and social time, and for those who want to stay in, the common areas and recreation rooms give a chance to relax or join in group activities. The rehabilitation programs are thorough, from inpatient stays after surgery to outpatient visits, and they've got a special rehab system called RESTORE that uses virtual games and motion cameras for therapy, which means physical and occupational therapy can feel more engaging and maybe even a little fun, and it sounds like they partner with Blue Sky Therapy for specialized care, so therapies are overseen by trained professionals with modern tech available. The atmosphere tries to be welcoming and soothing, and the place recently got some updates to make things more accessible and comfortable, and the rating comes in at 3.9 from 36 reviews, meaning folks mostly find what they need but probably notice some ups and downs as anywhere would have, and the community aims to make everyone feel supported, offering therapy, caregiving, and comprehensive medical care, with lots of amenities around to help enrich each day, from nutrition counseling to outings, faith services, and programs to enhance everyone's quality of life. LSS The Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Campus stands as a steady choice for Ashland-area seniors who need skilled nursing, complex medical care, memory support, rehabilitation, or a safe community to call home for a while or longer.
