    Attentive staff, improved care, recommended

I placed my mom here and overall I'm very happy - the staff (nurses, aides, therapists, housekeeping) are attentive, caring and responsive, quickly noticing health changes and providing on-site PT/OT/speech, daily nurse updates, great food and varied activities. The building is clean and welcoming and my mom improved dramatically after transfer; special thanks to Jill and Administrator Brandon. The facility is a bit older and care/therapy consistency can vary, but I still recommend it and rate it 5 stars.

    About Bowling Green Manor

Bowling Green Manor sits on West Poe Road in Bowling Green, Ohio, and has served the area's seniors since 1976, always working to care for folks like family and trying to earn the trust of each person who comes through the doors, and you find it as part of the HCF Management Inc. community, which has over 50 years of experience behind its name, so when you walk through the lobby you might notice staff who seem friendly, helpful, and kind, and they're often spoken of in town for making people feel comfortable with their encouragement and support during rehab or longer stays, and Brandon Hemminger serves as administrator, while Lori Polcyn helps with business development, and they're both committed to the day-to-day running of things. The Manor's a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility and it offers a big mix of services, so if someone needs skilled nursing, rehabilitation after a hospital stay, long-term care, short-term rehab, respite care for family caregivers, ventilator care, or a pulmonary program, those services are right there on site, and people who need help with Alzheimer's or dementia can find memory support and dementia care in a secure environment designed to limit confusion or wandering. Folks using Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance can pay for care, and skilled services start at $245 per day, which covers nursing services, plus things like wound care, intravenous therapy, rehabilitation, and therapy visits before discharge to help make sure people are safe once they're back at home. The therapy department gets praise for its physical, occupational, and speech therapy options, and outpatients can use these rehab services too, which helps people who want to stay independent as long as possible.

The grounds hold a private courtyard, and inside you see lounges with cable TV, a lobby, and daily activities that bring people together for social, mental, physical, and emotional engagement, which matters a lot to families, and Bowling Green Manor has won awards like Best of Senior Living and Best of Senior Living All Star, mainly for the quality of care and support shown in their activity programs and the way staff interact with residents. Nurses, aides, dietary workers, housekeepers, and therapists all seem to treat each resident as if they're their own family, and you hear English spoken as the first language, which helps with communication for most people. Meals are served using quality ingredients and are designed for nutrition and taste, and people who need help with bathing, dressing, taking medicine, or other everyday activities can get assisted living services that fit these needs. There's also in-house access to health counseling, diagnostic X-rays, pharmacy services, plus visits for eye care, podiatry, dental care, and psychological counseling, and if someone needs home care or wants to live more independently, there are programs for that too, along with special help for chronic diseases and stroke recovery. The Manor supports people for both short-term and long-term stays, giving options for home-like care, respite, hospice, and even home safety visits before someone returns home. Bowling Green Manor's close to local businesses and keeps ties with the Bowling Green community, and the staff work to keep things running as a true part of the town, all while staying focused on compassionate senior care.
