Capital City Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center sits at 920 Thurber Dr W in Columbus, Ohio, and the place has been around for 51 years, which means it has quite a history of taking care of seniors needing both long-term and short-term help. The facility holds 104 beds in private and semi-private rooms, and staff members, including expert physicians, therapists, and nurses, focus on providing skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care for folks with Alzheimer's and dementia, and lately they've been working on expanding their wound care and ventilator care, plus they have special help for people with tracheostomies too, which isn't something every place offers. Capital City Gardens has a range of therapy programs, like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as onsite SNF dialysis, so people don't have to travel out for those treatments, and the staff tries to help each resident recover and get stronger if that's what they need. The community includes tools to make reading and accessing information online easier, such as changing font size or color for better contrast, and the place itself has wide living spaces, bright gardens, community spots for visiting or activities, and amenities to keep folks as comfortable as possible. Recreation and social events are part of regular life there, and although there's a focus on caring for seniors with kindness and respect, right now the facility isn't taking any new residents until further notice. Services available include outpatient rehabilitation, home health, hospice care, respite care, and therapies aimed at improved daily living skills, and it all happens under the management of Administrator Ben Weinschneider and Admissions Director Cassidy Nicholson. Staff speak English, and you'll find care that tries to cover many needs, from long-term care to short-term rehab, with experienced hands working together for each resident's well-being.

Unresponsive staff, neglect, hazardous conditions
I had a horrific experience and would not recommend this facility. Staff were unresponsive and rude-nurses' station unreachable, call lights ignored, long waits for help and meds. Critical medications (including insulin) were delayed or withheld, wound care ignored, and my loved one required hospital transfer. The building was filthy (disgusting bathrooms, no hot water/AC, TVs/phones often dead) and belongings were mishandled. Administration was defensive and unhelpful; promised therapy and equipment never arrived. I'm reporting them - this place endangered my family.
