    About Bethany Lutheran Village

Bethany Lutheran Village sits on a large 100-acre campus at 6430 Inner Mission Way in Dayton, Ohio, where Graceworks Lutheran Services has organized care since 1926 and, because it's a nonprofit, folks can expect the focus to stay on helping people instead of making money, and so many people-over 750-call it home, with more than 400 living in their own independent cottages, villas, or apartments, and many others in settings with more care such as assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing, so people can stay as their needs change. Residents get private rooms and bathrooms, housekeeping and laundry, someone on hand at all hours with a 24-hour call system, and places to park if they drive, which is good because there's also community-run transportation for getting around. Meals are prepared by staff, with options for special diets, allergies, or even diabetes, and food's served in three dining rooms, with plenty of chef-prepared meals, so people can eat well without much worry, which helps when keeping up with all the daily happenings and programs offered on-site.

People who live here find spaces that are furnished and include studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments, even bigger detached homes, and units renovated recently, like in Vista Place, with open designs to move around in, while the outside areas have gardens, walking paths, hiking trails, and a lake, so there's a lot to see and do under the sun or in groups. Activities run most days-lifelong learning classes, games, book clubs, music, art, cooking, social events, groups, and faith-based gatherings-and for those wanting physical activity, the 5,000 square foot fitness center is set up for exercise, therapy, or just moving a little at your own pace. For times when people need extra help with things like dressing, bathing, medication, or getting around, staff provide daily support and medication management, plus around-the-clock supervision for those who need it, and there are services specific to people who need non-ambulatory care or diabetic support. Folks with memory problems have a secure area with special activities, creative programs, and therapy designed to help each person feel safe and respected, whether it's short-term respite care or ongoing care, with staff trained to bring gentle teaching and dignified attention.

The Day Program, now moved to Dryden Road in Moraine, has more room than before so it can reach up to 50 participants each day, letting them socialize, play games, join art or cooking classes, and meet others, and the new building came together with help from several local foundations. Bethany Lutheran Village belongs to a larger network that covers more than 50 locations in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, so people with different backgrounds or needs-older adults, people with disabilities, or even younger adults with health concerns-find a place. Services extend to low-income seniors and others who might need affordable options, always aiming to give dignified care no matter what folks can pay, and in recent times that meant delivering health and residential help to more than 700 older adults, allocating over $4 million in charitable care, and hundreds of volunteers pitching in thousands of hours.

Bethany Lutheran Village employs a wide team, with roles like Client Services Coordinator, PTA, Director of Information Technology, and more who handle everything from therapy and nursing in the Bethany Rehabilitation Center, where most return to their own homes after short recovery stays, to quietly tending gardens or running book clubs. There's always a range of devotional services, arts rooms, gardening patches, and plenty of places to gather for movies or just to sit with friends. The staff put value on dignity, respect, and a whole-person approach that includes care for the mind, body, and spirit, and there's a group called Bridges that works on making the place open and friendly to people of all backgrounds. Community rooms stay ready for gatherings, and amenities like a computer lab, beauty salon, restaurants, and WiFi in living spaces help everyone stay connected and cared for. Bethany Lutheran Village keeps a simple goal: help people age with comfort, support, and a strong sense of community in their own way, all while upholding its Lutheran mission of faithful caring.
