    Warm facility but inconsistent care

I moved my mom into Brookdale Findlay and liked the warm, clean, modern facility, friendly/caring staff, excellent activities (activities director is fantastic), and home-cooked meals - it really feels family-like and residents are active. That said, chronic understaffing and turnover have produced inconsistent care (laundry/meals issues, occasional missed needs), and management/financial problems - guarantor requirement, price hikes, and billing hassles - were a real stress. Rooms, accessibility, and outings are great, so it's a good fit for someone who doesn't need high-level medical care. I'd recommend touring and praising the staff, but insist on clear answers about staffing, policies, and total costs before you commit.

    About Brookdale Findlay

Brookdale Findlay sits in a community setting and uses a single-story design, which helps residents get around easily without worrying about stairs, and the building has scenic views and well-kept landscaping outside, so it's pleasant for folks who enjoy being near gardens or need safe, enclosed outdoor areas to walk and relax in. The facility offers different sizes of apartments, with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans, and there are named layouts like the Silverdale Suite, Townsend Suite, and Richmond Suite, some with walk-in closets, private bathrooms, and kitchenettes that have wooden cabinets, microwaves, mini-fridges, and sinks-and those who want can choose optional furnishings. Residents find units with emergency call systems, telephone hookups, basic cable, safety showers, carpeting, and in-home heating and air conditioning, plus accessible features for those needing things like wheelchair access or transfer help.

The common spaces inside feel cozy and welcoming, with a sunroom filled with wicker furniture and striped cushions that opens onto a patio, a stylish dining room with big windows and polished wood tables, a library, a family room, and a lounge for relaxing or meeting with friends. There's a beauty salon and a barber shop on-site, so folks can get their hair done, and the spacious areas offer cable TV, Internet, and comfortable spots for activities. The calendar's always full, with events like fitness classes, flower arranging, karaoke competitions, chair exercises, group activities, arts and crafts, cultural and music programs, and holiday parties-plus things like field trips, gardening, group outings, and seasonal celebrations to keep everyone engaged.

Brookdale Findlay is an assisted living community designed for seniors, offering care that ranges from independent living to memory care, nursing, and rehabilitation, so people with conditions like dementia or those needing wound care, medication management, or help with daily tasks such as dressing and bathing get support from professional staff trained in many areas, including mobility, chronic diseases, behavior management, safety, diet, and cardiac care. Nurses are on-call around the clock, and staff are present 24/7, able to respond in emergencies, manage care plans, do safety checks, and provide medication reminders or direct health support. The building uses controlled access for safety, staff do regular housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance, and residents can tap into things like groundskeeping, pest control, transportation for medical appointments, and personal medical alert systems.

The food options include breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, planned by a registered dietitian, and residents can eat together in the dining room or choose private or casual dining with friends or family, with snacks and meal assistance available as needed, plus there's an onsite chef. The community welcomes pets and has pet therapy programs, so people can enjoy furry companions, and guest parking makes it easy for visitors to stop by. Those who want religious support find worship services daily, Catholic services, other church services, and even pastoral care on the grounds. Residents get help managing finances and long-term insurance, and the facility offers health services from medical diagnostics and immunizations to occupational, physical, and speech therapies, as well as hospice if needed.

Between the sunlit rooms, social programs, pet-friendly rules, scheduled outings, professional staff, safety measures, accessible design, and range of health and wellness services, folks at Brookdale Findlay have the chance to live in a steady, friendly, and helpful environment, whether they're looking for independence or need tailored, daily care.
