    About Landings Of Huber Heights

Landings Of Huber Heights was a senior living community run by Meridian Senior Living, and now it stands closed, but it used to provide a mix of care options for people age 55 and older with needs ranging from independent living to assisted living, memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, nursing care, and home health services, and there was onsite homecare and even adult day support too, so folks looking for all sorts of help could find their place, whether they needed a lot of care or just a bit. The place offered private and shared apartments, with options including deluxe studios with kitchenettes and private baths, one- or two-bedroom units, and simple studios, all fully furnished if needed, and they allowed pets in some cases, with air conditioning, high-speed internet, and cable access, which was handy. Meals were home-cooked three times every day, with snacks and vegetarian choices on hand, so residents didn't have to spend time cooking or cleaning up, and they could eat together in common areas, and staff watched out for everyone 24 hours a day, including nurses and aides, plus a doctor on call, and help with medicines and any emergencies. Memory care had its own secure area with wandering paths, lots of natural light, and features like a screened porch and raised garden beds for people who enjoyed digging in the dirt, and their program was called Montessori Moments, which tried to build activities around what each person liked or remembered from their own life while keeping things safe, since some folks had confusion or would wander off. Activities were set up by a full-time director, from games and movies to fitness and outings, along with devotionals and visits from therapists, plus extras like a beauty shop, and there were both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces so people could talk or relax, even smoke outside if they wanted. Security ran round-the-clock, resident parking was available, and transportation could be arranged, sometimes free, sometimes for a fee, and utilities were included except for phone and cable, so most regular bills were covered. The staff were trained to treat everyone kindly, whether it was help with dressing, bathing, using the toilet, or bigger medical needs, including people with diabetes, incontinence, or behaviors that needed careful handling, and they worked hard to let residents age in place, staying there if care needs grew. The community allowed people to keep living more comfortably without worrying about maintenance, cook their own food in efficiency kitchens if they wished, or just join the group for meals, and housekeeping and linen service kept things tidy. There were special programs for keeping minds active and tackling memory problems, with the idea that understanding people's backgrounds could help lessen upset or confusion, and the care was always supervised, both day and night. Landings Of Huber Heights also offered hospice and respite care, welcoming folks who needed short stays, lots of medical attention, or recovery help. All in all, before closing, it was a place that offered varied care, practical comforts, and tried to make daily life a little more social, safe, and manageable for its residents, whatever their needs were.
