    Well-managed resort-like community with care

I love living here - well-managed, safe, resort-like community with Tammy and a staff who are kind, attentive and truly go above and beyond. Spacious, modern apartments with balconies, in-unit laundry, heated garage and beautiful park/pond grounds (dog-friendly) make it feel like home. Single-bill pricing (utilities, maintenance, twice-monthly housekeeping, some meals included), lots of activities and outings, and independence with available levels of care made my move smooth and social. Highly recommend.

    About Springwood Hudson

Springwood Hudson is a senior living community for adults aged 55 and up that sits in a three-story building and has spaces that are modern and comfortable, with one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with private bathrooms, walk-in showers, kitchenettes, and patios or decks, and you'll notice things like nine-foot ceilings, granite countertops, stainless appliances, and wide doorways for easy wheelchair access and extra safety features like smoke detectors and sprinklers so it feels secure and homey. The facility belongs to the StoryPoint Senior Living group and offers independent living, assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and skilled nursing, so there's a broad range of care options as needs change. The grounds have outdoor gardens, walking paths, a dog park, and cozy outdoor patios with grills and fire pits so residents can relax or garden with friends, while outdoor programs help keep everyone active.

Dining is set up with three restaurants and a pub on-site, and meals are cooked by professional chefs, with a focus on nutrition and options for special diets like low-sugar for diabetes and allergy-sensitive diets, all day dining, and restaurant-style meal service, plus room for socializing. Community spaces include a fitness center, aquatic center with a hot tub, library, computer room, business center, chapel, game room, arts and crafts studio, woodworking shop, and plenty of spots for movies, lectures, and group hobbies, all covered by free high-speed wifi and cable TV throughout common areas and rooms. Residents can join fitness programs, Tai Chi, yoga, and stretching, and take part in social activities like movie nights, arts and crafts, music clubs, group outings, story time, and gardening, with activities often run by residents themselves which gives people a sense of belonging.

For daily needs, housekeeping, linen services, move-in help, laundry, dry cleaning, and bill consolidation are available, with parking and guest accommodations for visitors. There's help for those who want it with bathing, dressing, and medication management, plus a 24-hour call system, and access to the Crown Center for skilled nursing and rehab along with a medical clinic and therapy center right on campus. Spiritual care is available with on-site religious services, and personal grooming with an on-site hair salon and barber.

Transportation is available for appointments and shopping, and pets are welcome, with rules. Residents who prefer more privacy or extra services can get private housekeeping or in-home companion help if needed, which makes things easier for folks who want to maintain independence. Springwood Hudson has been recognized for providing good meals and activity programs, has a high review score for resident satisfaction, and is known for friendly staff members. The facility's focus is on creating an easygoing, social, and supportive environment where residents make connections and feel at home, with scenic views of woods and water, and nearby recreation like the Lake Forest Country Club. Entry fees start at $1,000 and independent living costs start around $2,260, depending on the apartment chosen.
