    Great bedside care terrible management

I had a mixed experience. The nurses, aides, RTs and therapists were loving, attentive and helped my mother successfully wean from a ventilator and make strong rehab progress. But administration was rude, unprofessional and aggressive about billing/Medicare - with threats, early/unsafe discharge pressures and poor leadership. I also saw understaffing, long waits, lost clothing and serious cleanliness/safety problems (soiled/dirty rooms, wound care issues, even vomit/feces incidents and bed-bug reports). Overall: excellent bedside care and therapy, but I can't recommend the facility until management, billing practices and basic cleanliness are fixed.

    About Piqua Manor

Piqua Manor sits at 1840 W High St in Piqua, Ohio, and, while there isn't much flash or big luxury, there's a steady focus on covering the basics and helping people take care of their needs, and though the property doesn't boast pools or fancy patios or special doormen, it's part of the HCF family and focuses on health and care over bells and whistles, and you'll find an apartment setting with care for seniors at many different stages of life, meaning folks can get help if they need it for daily activities like bathing, moving from bed to chair, getting dressed, or with medication management, plus non-ambulatory care for those who aren't able to get around easily, and the building accepts both Medicaid and Medicare, which can make things a bit simpler sometimes for families sorting out the payment end of things, and while there aren't splashy features mentioned like gyms or spas, they do mention a spa/sauna/wellness area and some fitness programs, so there is some space set aside for taking care of your body and mind, but what usually seems to stick out is the community's drive to offer resident-run activities and programs-like arts, music, movie nights, and community-sponsored activities, including outdoor spaces and walking paths, a garden, and group activity areas-so there's often something to do or someone to chat with if you want that, and the staff also takes care of housekeeping, laundry service or dry cleaning, and offers transportation or parking support, plus there's dining with all-day service in a restaurant-style setup handled by a professional chef, with extra attention to diets for those with allergies or diabetes, and residents can expect private bathrooms, air conditioning, kitchenettes, cable TV, telephones, Wi-Fi, and furnished rooms if they need them, and for safety, there's an Emergency Alert System and round-the-clock supervision with nursing services available 12-16 hours a day, along with a 24-hour call system, and the care covers a lot, from short-term rehab, hospice care, respiratory and infusion therapy, ventilator care, a pulmonary program, and special memory support, to outpatient rehab and other healthcare services, and outside all this, Piqua Manor gets involved with local community events like the Piqua Community Calendar as well as programs through the Chamber Foundation and Grow Piqua Now, showing up as steady neighbors in town, though one thing to know is you won't find details about the parking situation or if there are garages, and while there's no fancy marketing lingo floating around, the place seems to focus on compassionate, practical care along with chances to get involved with others in day-to-day life, and there's a move-in coordination service to help new residents get settled more easily.
