    Caring staff, understaffed facility issues

I have mixed feelings: the caregivers I met were compassionate, welcoming, and helped us move in quickly, and the memory-care activities and grounds are pleasant. However, chronic understaffing and high turnover have led to poor communication (phones/unanswered calls, front desk often unmanned), inconsistent cleanliness and meals, and worrying care lapses (delayed meds/ostomy changes, ignored call cords, billing/documentation problems). After new ownership responsiveness declined; I'd recommend cautiously - great staff doing their best in a facility that needs better staffing and management.

About The Gardens at Liberty Park

The Gardens at Liberty Park stands on over eight acres and offers a calm setting with lots of greenery, covered patios, and places to enjoy the outdoors like rocking chairs. Residents can choose from independent living, assisted living, and memory care, so whether someone needs a little help or more support for memory issues, this place has several options. Rooms are freshly painted with new flooring, have natural light, and come in different sizes like the Heron and Poinciana suite layouts, ranging from about 190 to 329 square feet, with full carpets, big closets, and private handicapped-accessible bathrooms. Residents can pick private, semi-private, or companion apartments for assisted living, and private memory care apartments are available too, with some suites ready for immediate move-in.

Dining here is restaurant-style, with homemade snacks and meals that work with different diets, and there are private dining rooms for family get-togethers. There's a beauty salon, a barbershop, a library, a game room, a garden, and even pet-friendly spaces, so everyone can feel comfortable. Wi-Fi and high-speed internet, cable, and phone service come standard, and there's parking for residents and guests, which is handy for visitors. Health services include daily supervision, medication management, therapy like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, on-site physician care, lab work, help with daily activities, and hospice care. The team's there around the clock to make sure care plans work for each person and help as needed.

Activities run every day and cover things like arts and crafts, yoga, Tai Chi, cooking and exercise classes, walking clubs, movie nights, religious services, social hours, bingo, holiday events, birthday parties, and themed dinners. Big community events happen monthly, with holiday celebrations, music programs, outings, and visits from therapy dogs to add some cheer. Their Inspired Living program covers a wide mix of things for the body, mind, and spirit, and the Resident Discovery Survey helps staff find out what each resident likes to do. Home care services give support to those who want to stay at home, with trained aides for non-medical help and companionship.

Memory care focuses on keeping people with cognitive changes safe, comfortable, and involved, using spaces that lower chances of wandering and confusion. Assisted living supports those who need help with bathing, getting dressed, or medicine, but still want to live as independently as they can. People who want an active life but less hassle can pick independent living, which means no worries about maintenance, more opportunities to meet others, and plenty of freedom. Residents enjoy outings to local places like Tinker's Creek State Park and Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which fit different mobility levels, and the community sits in Streetsboro where the old streets add a nice touch of history.

Events like Happy Hour, Men's Spa Day, and Pie-A-Manager Day mix things up. Staff aim to keep things friendly, helpful, and positive, and awards like Best of Senior Living and All Star show some recognition for good care and support. Meals aim to be well-balanced, full of flavor, and healthy, and there's help for those needing special diets or help with eating. Overall, The Gardens at Liberty Park makes room for many different needs, keeps safety in mind, gives options for privacy and community, and offers activities that get people moving, talking, learning, and feeling at home.
