    Kind staff and excellent value

I'm very happy at Paisley House - the staff are kind, informative, and go above and beyond, quick to alert me about doctor needs. The building is immaculate and well maintained with no odors; rent covers excellent services like laundry, weekly bedding changes, and hair washing/styling at no extra cost, so it's better value than my previous, pricier facility. The dining room is small but warm and inviting, there's a friendly dog on-site, and I have no complaints - 5/5.

    About Paisley House

Paisley House has been serving seniors since 1909 and sits along the Mahoning River in Youngstown, Ohio, where a sense of warmth and welcome can be felt throughout its well-maintained building. The place offers studio apartments and serves up to 24 residents with care from a staff of about 30 people, creating a family-like atmosphere that makes the community feel close. The facility stands as a non-profit and keeps costs affordable, with a board that works to keep rent steady and avoid yearly rises, so folks who don't qualify for the Medicaid waiver can find care that fits their needs and budgets thanks to generous community support and funds raised locally. Licensed by the state, Paisley House provides several types of care, including assisted living for those who need help with daily tasks like bathing and dressing, Alzheimer's care, independent living, and even specialized respite care for short stays. They accept both checks and credit card payments.

Residents can count on around-the-clock professional staff, including on-staff nurses, aides, and a house doctor who visits monthly, with healthcare support such as medication management, podiatry services, and a mental wellness program always available. The facility offers services like laundry, dry cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance, and regular transportation for appointments and outings. Meals are served in a communal dining room, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner bring people together, and meal services are all included. There's a salon and barbershop for haircuts right on the property, and a sunroom, fireplace, and library that give folks places to gather or quietly read. Residents can take up activities like arts and crafts, Nintendo Wii bowling, game nights, and exercise classes including chair yoga, and there's a resident musical group for entertainment and involvement.

Paisley House offers in-house religious services and makes sure residents have social opportunities, with trips to local spots like Mill Creek Park, local restaurants such as Noble Creature Cask House, and leisure activities even as far as Three Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Folks can enjoy the outdoor garden, take part in movie nights, or settle into the peaceful public living areas. The setting helps residents maintain their dignity and independence, and people can feel safe with personalized care that ensures their health, safety, and protection in their later years. Paisley House accommodates both men and women aged 65 or older and supports those who are largely independent but may require help from time to time. Proximity to pharmacies like Qol Meds Pharmacy, cafés such as Saint E's Cafe, and medical facilities including St. Elizabeth Health Center means essential resources are close by. All pricing is all-inclusive, without extra fees for basic services, and communal spaces help foster companionship and a steady sense of belonging for those in their twilight years.
