    Caring staff, comfortable but expensive

I'm grateful for the genuinely caring, friendly and professional staff-they cared for my mother, kept the place very clean, and ran engaging activities, nice meals and a pleasant dining/outdoor space. Rooms are comfortable and private, and overall the atmosphere felt safe and homey. Downsides: pricing was higher than quoted (rate increase after move-in), receipt/billing and laundry issues, slow maintenance, occasional bad smells and understaffing, and there is no 24/7 nursing-so not ideal for heavy medical needs. Overall I'm pleased and would recommend touring in person and confirming final costs and nursing availability.

About The Addison of Lowrie Place

The Addison of Lowrie Place sits in a peaceful neighborhood in Butler, Pennsylvania, close to the VA Butler Healthcare and nearby shops, restaurants, and even a movie theater, so residents get both calm surroundings and things to do in town. This single-story community offers plenty of options for seniors, starting with assisted living but also including skilled nursing, memory care, independent living, personal care, and short-term stays which a lot of folks appreciate when they're recovering from something, and the community's 47 beds give it enough room to feel lively but not crowded, and pets are allowed for those who want to keep a furry friend close by. Residents can choose from studio or one-bedroom apartments, which come with safety features like emergency pull cords, walk-in showers with grab bars, and kitchenettes that include a microwave, refrigerator, and freezer, plus there's wall-to-wall carpeting, climate control, and big closets for storing just about everything. People get meals prepared by a chef three times a day-either in a communal dining room or delivered to their apartment-with menu choices overseen by a dietitian who keeps an eye on nutrition, and there's always staff around to help with activities of daily living, like bathing or taking medicine, so no one feels like they have to do too much alone.

Residents at The Addison of Lowrie Place can count on around-the-clock attention from a team that includes dedicated Resident Care Partners and a registered nurse who's on call at all hours, and although the nurse is part-time on site, someone with training is always within reach if help is needed, and that sense of security gives families some peace of mind. Housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and meal services come standard, and the staff even helps with things like shopping trips and transportation for medical or recreational outings, which could mean a day out to see local art or a quick trip for groceries. Inside, the building features lounges, a library, an activity room, a private dining space if guests drop by, and a hair salon, so folks have places to gather with friends or enjoy some quiet time. There's a full calendar of activities-board games, yoga, stretching, tai chi, and bingo happen regularly-and the staff organizes trips out to libraries, galleries, and area parks.

Residents who need memory care or skilled nursing receive specialized help, with the entire place focused on balancing freedom and support based on what each individual needs, and there's a real effort from staff to learn about each person's likes and habits. The community is known locally for its medical care and personal assistance, and it receives about 4 out of 5 stars in online reviews, based on 29 customer comments that are collected using a verified process, which allows families to see honest opinions. While no detailed prices have been published, The Addison of Lowrie Place is described as providing affordable options, especially for those using VA Aid and Attendance benefits, and it also offers some help with financial aid and selling a home.

The main language spoken is English, but they do their best to accommodate everyone, and seniors have access to blog resources, a glossary, and caregiver support information through the community's online platform. Support goes beyond just medical needs: services include companionship, extra guidance for those needing daily help, fitness classes, and wellness programs. The staff is there for questions about finding senior care, with a free service that helps families explore their options, along with a directory listing nearby communities for comparison. The location has a routine business schedule from early in the morning to the evening, and welcomes open tours for those interested in seeing the place for themselves, with opportunities to explore open rooms and learn about what's offered before making any decisions.
