Historic caring staff, but costly
I'm grateful for the loving, professional staff - nurses and aides who made my mom feel comfortable, provided excellent (even life-saving) care, and were patient and respectful. The historic, sunny campus, beautiful art and chapel, open grounds and social activities (singing, storytelling, summer carnival) create a peaceful, veteran-focused atmosphere full of warmth and interaction. My concerns: high rent with limited services, occasional poor or missing care, safety/surveillance gaps, worries about transportation and possible misused funds. Overall it's a rewarding, history-rich place I support, but do your homework and consider donating to help our heroes.
