    Excellent rehab but understaffed care

I appreciated the very clean facility, private rooms, active programming, and excellent rehab/PT staff who helped my loved one regain strength. However, the place is clearly understaffed-call lights go unanswered, nursing care is inconsistent, meds and pain pills are delayed, and residents were sometimes left soiled or unattended. Food was hit-or-miss (often cold and bland), rooms and furniture feel dated, and I'm worried about infection control and reports of missing belongings. Staff quality was uneven-some kind, helpful caregivers and therapists, but others rude or unresponsive and management seemed uncaring. Overall: great rehab and clean setting, but I wouldn't trust it for long-term or memory-care needs.

    About Vincentian Marian Manor

Vincentian Marian Manor has served older adults in Pittsburgh since 1956, and it's part of a nonprofit network with a long history, so you'll see a focus on both personal care and a caring, spiritual atmosphere built on its religious foundation, which shows up in how staff support residents and offer devotional services offsite. The campus spreads over 25 acres with walking paths, gardens, and a nicely kept courtyard, which lets folks enjoy the outdoors, and inside you'll find comfortable bedrooms, both private and semi-private, with plenty of space for personal things. Residents have access to several common areas-lounges, club rooms for card games or live music, and a country kitchen-style dining room where everyone gets home-cooked meals that cater to different diets, especially for people who need help due to medical conditions.

The facility offers a mix of care types, from skilled nursing and personal care to memory care and assisted living, so support can change as needs do. They provide specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care with secure units to help keep memory care residents safe and less anxious, plus personalized wellness plans and brain activities to stay engaged. Staff are friendly, trained, and present 24/7 to help with whatever folks need, whether it's bathing, dressing, walking, or getting to meals, and licensed nurses give medication support, wound care, and handle health needs right on site. For people working towards recovery, there's occupational, speech, and physical therapy, all under medical supervision.

Vincentian Marian Manor puts a lot into keeping life busy and social with a calendar full of social events, arts and crafts, education, fitness, and wellness programs, encouraging everyone to stay active and connected. Residents can join group outings or enjoy indoor activities like shuffleboard, live music, or club gatherings. There's a beauty salon, fitness room, game room, internet access, cable TV, and even washers and dryers, plus pharmacy services, housekeeping, laundry, and dry cleaning to keep everything comfortable and running smoothly. Safety's always top of mind, with a sprinkler system and other features throughout the building.

Families can choose from different rooms, ranging from $6,500 to $12,000 per month, and all meals are included. Vincentian Marian Manor accepts private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and some long-term care insurance, making it possible for more people to get care. There's transportation support, and those who live here can use programs and services also found in other Vincentian locations, such as their Learning & Engagement Institute, involvement in community support, and even intergenerational connections with the Vincentian Child Discovery Center McCandless. Everything stays transparent, with up-to-date licensing, certification, and inspection records. Prospective residents are encouraged to visit in person or virtually to see how Vincentian Marian Manor fits what they're looking for in a senior living community.
