Woodcrest Senior Living Community sits on 44 wooded acres in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, and has served seniors since 1968, offering a range of living options like apartments, duplexes, cottage homes, and single-room units, plus standalone cottages and bungalows, so folks can pick something that suits how they want to live and still have neighbors nearby. The community welcomes residents usually 55 or 62 and older and is a licensed Personal Care home by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. Woodcrest gives active seniors plenty of ways to stay busy and connected, with a resident-run activities program, arts room, library, recreation room, walking paths, outdoor patios and gardens, and even regular movie nights, all planned to help people stay engaged physically, socially, mentally, and emotionally, and there are in-house religious services and community-sponsored events that bring folks together, while privacy is also respected. Inside the homes and apartments, many have full-size kitchens, and there are dining room facilities with all-day, restaurant-style choices and planned meals that can meet special dietary needs, including allergy-sensitive and diabetes-friendly options, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner served in bright, windowed spaces, and guests are allowed at meals, which many families appreciate. Staff provide on-site help as needed, offering independent living, assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and even nursing home care, with continuous supervision, emergency alert systems, medication administration, and a 24-hour call system for safety. Folks get housekeeping, room maintenance, and laundering for linens and personal items, including dry cleaning, so life's a bit easier, and there's a move-in coordination service to help new residents settle in. On top of that, there's on-site supervision, general healthcare, pharmacy services, medication management by trained staff, and support with daily routines like dressing, bathing, or moving around, so care needs get met without fuss. Utilities like heat, electricity, water, and air conditioning get included in the monthly fees, and residents have access to on-site parking, a barber/salon for personal grooming, and a garden for outdoor enjoyment. Woodcrest doesn't require big entry or endowment fees and tries to make things comfortable and convenient, aiming to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of everyone who lives there, and over the years, it's earned a reputation in the community for compassionate, helpful, and kind staff-which has been recognized through awards for excellence and positive reviews from residents and their families.

Exceptional attentive care clean environment
My mom lives here and I couldn't be happier - the staff are exceptional, polite and very attentive, with frequent check-ins and timely meds. The building and apartments are clean, updated and wheelchair-accessible, and dining is excellent with three varied meals in a formal dining room. There are many daily activities (crafts, games, music, chapel/Bible study) led by a wonderful activity director, and care feels personal and family-like - management listens. It's affordable and gives us peace of mind; note there are 24/7 aides but not around-the-clock skilled nursing. Highly recommend.
