    Clean community, terrible care, theft

I'm torn - the community looks great: clean, odor-free, lively activities and residents enjoying events - but my experience of care was terrible. My family had to provide showers and laundry, meds went missing, we found bedbugs, and we reported suspected staff theft that led to police involvement and an arrest; a resident was injured and later died. Communication from leadership was poor and some new staff were nasty, though a few caregivers were excellent; I can't recommend this facility.

    About Bishopville Manor

Bishopville Manor sits right there in town, and you can find it easily with maps or by checking their photo gallery. You see a place set up for seniors who want to live on their own in apartments or mobile homes, but also need care sometimes, so there's both a mobile home park and an apartment building. Some folks just want the independent lifestyle with support like house cleaning, maintenance, and meals, while others might need a bit more help with daily activities like medication, incontinence care, or diabetic care, and Bishopville Manor covers those needs too. There's always staff around for non-medical care around the clock, plus on-site nurse visits, and home health care if needed. They deal with all kinds of care-assisted living, memory care for folks with Alzheimer's, and skilled nursing care. For those needing physical therapy, they've got options, and they offer short-term rehab through a partnership with Marian Carey Rehabilitation Center for those coming out of the hospital, along with outpatient services covered by Medicare Part B, so there's some help for staying healthy or healing after a setback.

The rental community keeps things simpler-it doesn't ask for long-term contracts or buy-in fees, so folks pay month to month and can choose from private or shared suites. Every suite gets Wi-Fi, cable TV, a telephone, and a kitchenette, so residents can stay connected and do for themselves as much or as little as they like. Those who want more company can join programs like movie nights, arts and crafts, and group shopping trips, and there are outdoor spots for a walk or fresh air and a small library for reading. The dining room serves sit-down meals restaurant-style, and there's a fitness area and beauty salon so residents can stay active and keep up their routines. They run devotional activities on-site and off-site for those interested, and there are indoor common areas for gathering or relaxing quietly. Bishopville Manor provides transportation to doctor's appointments, and if someone's care needs change, they can stay put thanks to the range of services-respite care for short stays, hospice care when the time comes, and specialist services for more complex issues. There's a steady focus on helping residents stay social and independent but always with a hand ready for support when it's called for.
