    Caring staff, home-like, excellent care

I placed my mother here and couldn't be happier. The staff are caring and feel like family, the fresh home-cooked meals were amazing, and her private room and bath plus the beautiful porch, garden and shared living areas made it feel safe and home-like. On-site doctors/pharmacy, reasonable price, and strong resident bonds - my mother loved her stay.

About Sarah Simpson Gossett Home Inc.

Sarah Simpson Gossett Home Inc. sits in Greenville, South Carolina, and mainly serves elderly women who are having a tough time with their finances, and it tries to help them live in a safe, caring place that feels like home without making things too complicated, and you'll find that it's a nonprofit that helps with both independent living and all the day-to-day kinds of help folks need, like getting dressed, taking medicine, eating regular meals three times a day, and having someone around to keep an eye on medications and reminders. The staff stays trained and available to lend a hand, but they don't act like a nursing home, because the care here is for folks who can still get around some and don't need a nurse every minute but do need help living safely and comfortably, so it lands about halfway between living all on your own and needing skilled nursing. The place also does a good deal for seniors living with memory challenges, offering memory care right there in a building set up for it, offering support for those struggling for recall or with dementia symptoms, and they've got programs for charitable giving and help out with things like VA benefits and Aid and Attendance funds. They're tied in with other places close by to give more kinds of care-like independent living and nursing care homes-and even have their hands in other causes, from helping veterans and military folk to funds for animal welfare, climate change, and ending homelessness. There's a strong community feel, with rooms and shared spaces where residents can eat, join activities, and meet new friends, plus churches nearby like Earle Street Baptist Church, several pharmacies, hospitals, local parks such as Cleveland Park, and restaurants and coffee shops like Taco Bell, Zaxby's, The Eighth State Brewing Company, Green Fetish, and Grateful Brew not far off-so folks here can go out or get out to the spots they like, and the staff can help them get there. The home sticks with English on-site and tries to make sure each resident has access to group or solo social activities, educational events, and different ways to keep active and engaged, and the whole setup feels pretty flexible for older women who don't want a lot of hassle but could use a place with some support and a chance to enjoy what's around them.
