Golden Age-Inman sits at 82 N. Main Street, Inman, SC 29349, and you'll find it serves as both a nursing home and a skilled nursing facility, with care going 'round the clock and a doctor overseeing care at all times, which some folks really need especially if they've had a stroke or surgery or have a long-term health condition, and you'll see staff ready to help with things like bathing, dressing, eating, and handling medications since daily life gets tricky as people get older, and if you need support with regular activities, the team steps in, and they've even got transportation for medical appointments in the schedule because not everyone drives anymore, you know. Golden Age-Inman accepts Medicaid for those who qualify and also works with long-term care insurance to help people manage the cost of nursing home care, and if you're coming in for rehab after an illness or operation, like with orthopedic or stroke patients, there are programs run by therapists for walking and exercise, they handle resident laundry, housekeeping, and serve up meals approved by a dietitian, so those special diets get covered without any fuss. There's always someone on hand watching over medication and helping get prescriptions in order since older folks often take more medicine nowadays, and the building's got safety features like emergency call systems, plus you'll spot cable TVs, a barbershop, and even a beauty salon on site because people still like to look their best, along with a library for those that want a quiet break, and activities fill up the days while the staff coordinates social services for extra help. The place pulls together as a family-oriented center, whether you're staying short-term for recovery or moving in long-term, and the apartments for independent living come with one bedroom and the assisted living rooms have built-in closets and private bathrooms to help with comfort and privacy. English is the main language in the clinic, though some staff know other languages, and the facility does try to support residents with different backgrounds, including through digital communication and social media services. Dena Johnson runs the center, and staff focus on creating an environment where people can heal, relax, and rehabilitate, while group activities, dietician-approved meals, and a caring team help keep everyone's well-being in mind every day, so in essence, Golden Age-Inman's got what many seniors need for both day-to-day help and long-term care in a pretty, well-kept space.
Caring staff inconsistent unsafe care
I've had a mixed experience. On the plus side the admissions team and many caregivers are warm, welcoming and genuinely caring - therapy/rehab is excellent, meals and the small, homey setting are nice, and staff often treat residents like family. However I also witnessed or heard frequent problems: inconsistent/understaffed shifts, medication and hygiene errors, delayed or neglectful care, safety lapses and unprofessional behavior - so I'd recommend visiting, asking detailed questions, and monitoring care closely before committing.
